I've been searching for a good way to keep up with the rankings of all my sites, when I came across Market Samurai's Rank Tracker.

I know this is old school stuff, but literally for the past year I've had the full version of MS and never used it. Maybe someone shares the experience

The best rank tracker is google webmasters, you can see not only your average rank, but also ctr, click etc.

Google webmaster tools doesn't work well in my experience. On one of my biggest sites (Rank 1 for 6 months, 2,000+ Uniques daily), it doesn't even show correct stats...

Also, I would never add all of my domains to Google.. I actually keep off ALL Google services.

After you reach 100 domains... You want to stay hidden.

It doesn't work well? Fair enough you don't want to use it but for Google it is 100% accurate. There is sometimes a delay of a few days but that shouldn't effect much.

Standard rank trackers are pretty much useless now. Google is constantly changing the position of a page and serves up different results to different data centres as well as users. Personalisation of results has changed the way the system works. A page can jump between the top 10 daily.

As mentioned, GWT lets you see impressions and CTR which lets you adjust your titles and descriptions to improve traffic. It also shows where you sit on world wide servers to laser target your content.

If you're logged out... rankings do not fluctuate that dramatically on a regular basis... Perhaps a domain that doesn't have much authority yet and is still dancing...

Most people log in and forget to log out before they check their ranks. Also you can DL a Chrome Extension called SEO Site Tools which will disable Personalized Search and Web History for true accuracy.

We moved away from Google for tracking any of our information. We're now using Rank Tracker in Market Samurai and Piwik in place of Analytics.

We don't want Google to have access to that data...

It's false to say Standard rank trackers don't work anymore.
