IP footprint and backlinking

Hey all,

Just wondering how important it is to vary your IP footprint with backlinking.

i.e. if i bookmark, blog post, forum post, etc from the same IP, will google see that this is all coming from the same person and devalue the links?

    No. Google is not the internet police - They can't track people's IP addresses on sites that they don't own.

      No, there is no way for Google to track your IP. Don't worry about it.

    No Google doesn't do that. Infact it has no right to check what one does with his IP address.
    Go ahead and bookmark from the same site always if you feel it as a good traffic source.

    When it comes to SEO off course backlinks matter when it comes from IP's from different countries.
