    You're just doing a search, so all the normal SEO factors would probably come into play.

    views/hits, description and title would all be part of it.

    I guess the difference between that and regular website SEO is that they also have lots of data on bounce rates, average view time, ratings, comments etc etc.

    If someone searches for a video with a specific keyword then watches an entire video and likes/comments on it, then it would appear that they found what they wanted. It makes sense to give more importance to that video for that keyword.

    Food for thought

    Yes I do agree that it would be the help of SEO - it depends on the viewer if he or she will like your video then comment in your video.

    Enticing description and title can help you viewers click and watch your video. It could help you with traffic.

    The following factors (not in order) come into play:

    * title
    * description
    * tags
    * views
    * ratings
    * playlist additions
    * flagging
    * embeds
    * shares
    * comments
    * age of video
    * channel views
    * subscribers
    * inbound links (back links to the video from outside YouTube).

    As you can see from the list, the community factor plays a big part. If you don't produce videos that the people like, you won't get ranked.

    If I see a video getting mega views and I'm submitting into the same area I'll always take a close look at they're tags and just take the ones I like.
