The only thing I can say is, what does that make your site look like?
I have seen sites like that, with those ads across the top.
It makes your site look like one big advertisement site.

Is that what you want to convey?

    For me, no.

Code your site for a visitor who is enticed to surf around.
That's where your clickers will come from. Not the people
who surf in and surf out. If they came from a search engine,
how are they going to feel when they first land on your site?

I may be in the minority, but I have never thought people come
to your site and are bedazzled with an ad and BOOM, click.

If someone from google surfed in, what would they think?

it is risky, i never put ads beside an image, whether it's also an ads or just an image.

You can but it looks ugly and cheap...

Also, what you don't understand is that by putting lots of ads you are diluting your cost per click because if you put only one ad, the highest bidding advertiser will get that spot and you will get maximum value per click...

If you put tons of ads, all adverts will be displayed - those that are more expensive - on top, the cheapest ones are on the bottom... You will get 0.01 clicks on the bottom-placed ads (depending on your niche of course)... but what I am saying is that by placing fewer ads you will get more expensive ads and clicks...
