Hi,

Can anyone tell me whether it would be a bad idea to have a number at the end of a domain name?

For example if I wanted Bluewidgets.com but it was taken would Bluewidgets100.com be ok or is this a bad idea, SEO wise?

Thanks in advance for any advice.

Pauline

You will have no issue with doing that. I have a few sites with numbers in the domain name and they're all performing well, especially for the main keyword that includes a number.

Thanks for your replies - I am reassured now that I can go ahead with a domain I purchased.

BlueWidgets101.com would probably be better. (Denoting the fundamentals about blue widgets, as in a college course.)

Hard to say where keyword domain names will end up in the SERPS now that Google has changed the Algorithm with the Mayday update.... but yes, in days gone past numbers or even my sites with a dash or 2 in them always did very well...NO MORE! Lol...Google...Losers.
