I have been using Adsense for about a year now and have only received one check so far at $100.00 I get about 100 unique hits a day and I'm pretty new to this community and internet marketing in general. I usually place my adsense within the article. Lately I have been getting at least 1 click a day. I'm curious depending on the traffic I get I'm assuming I should be getting a lot more clicks? Yes or No?

I'm swifting through all the wonderful information here as well. I'm so glad I found this place.

I have a forum that generates quite a few dollars in clicks every day, weeks can go by with the same old adverts and because my members are regular visitors they tire of them the clicks go down, then we will suddenly get a load of new content and they start clicking away again. It would be nice if the ads rotated a bit more. That said its a niche site so maybe they struggle to get new ads to me that are relevant

One click out of 100 is not very good. A 5 to 10% CTR is what I expect.

It depends a lot on your topic for sure. If the visitors are in "buying mode" for that niche when they arrive, you will get a lot of clicks. If you niche does not attract "buying mode" visitors, the CTR will be less for sure.

On my first site I am up to $87. Site went live on 1st October. My CTR average is 2.89% although in the last 4 days it is averaging a 6% CTR. I am fairly happy with this so far but obvioulsy want to improve it over the next few weeks.
In answer to your question then Joshua, I think you should be getting more clicks than you are and I suggest experimenting with the ad placements.

I agree with this. My site was generating the hits via EZA but no Adsense clicks. (I had a billbord placement on top, under my title and one below the end of the article). I changed the top billbord to a link set (4 across) and added two wide skyscrapers to the right side of my articles and left the bottom billbord alone. It has made a big difference. I"m a newbie and still don't know what to fully expect, but I know that this has improved my CTR. Also, my CTR and Adsense hits very per day, but still much better than before the change.

My question for all you adsense warriors is, how long did it take to start making good figures?

I've heard several individuals quote earnings in the 1,000's per month but how long did it take?

    Thanks!
