Try to ping the profiles or even bookmark it all. Usually it will be automatic if the site with your profile has high PR or when search engines always goes to their site or when the sites has ping sites in the backend. You can see the effect in the SERPS when search engines updates the database and when it was crawled.

Let Google find them, naturally. It's better that way.

Or, just ping or bookmark 50% of them.

Why do you say 50% of them? And when you say Ping them, what do you mean exactly? Putting the link in something like Pigoat right?

My worry is that I tried Pingoat for a silly blogger blog post yesterday and its been over 18 hours but the post is not part of the google index yet. So is there some other way of pinging?

      Thanks!

  • you'll have to be a bit more patient than that, because even after pinging and bookmarking, you'll still have to wait some days even a few weeks before getting indexed

You can check the WSO and look for backlink bully. It's Mark Dickenson's product and it helps to index profile backlinks. If you are subscribed to Angela's Backlink program, she can recommend a product developed by someone who helps to index profile backlinks too. Hope it helps.

Yep - Pinging is sites like pingoat, pingler or ping-o-matic.

Anyway... I would not wait WEEKS like webpromoterservice said - although I would wait 3-5 days MAX... 18 hours is nothing - especially not if you are new to this!

When I first started it took weeks before I got indexed - now it takes 24 hours max..

What I'm trying to say is: Relax, give it some time, ping it and bookmark some of them - 50-70% as someone said

I agree with just letting Google find them naturally. But if you do want to get them noticed you can go to a service like ping.fm and ping em!

If these are links on already indexed pages, i would agree with that. But if you are talking about new pages, I think this is a big mistake.

Guest post links are effective when they are contextual and natural!!

      Thank you all!

So the general consensus is "Ping the hell out of them!"

      So, will this work...

Put them all in an RSS feed and then use Pingoat to Ping the RSS feed once a day until they get indexed?

      Thanks.....

I would take the approach of not pinging any of the backlinks and let them be discovered naturally by Google. That way, it is natural, plus, the link velocity is somewhat auto-maintained.

Wait for some time - maybe a couple of weeks - and then if you see some of the profiles not yet getting indexed, you may want to either ping them or create a link-structure on them such that some of the already-indexed profiles now also link to the un-indexed profiles. Plus, in the longer run, make a note of the site from which the profiles were naturally picked up by Google, and seed your link wheel/pyramid/k-plex structure from some of these.

Do you know for sure they can be indexed? A lot of us evil forum admins have blocked bots from profiles due to the nice spammers running about.

Oh, and profile links don't count much these days anyway and less in the future.

pinging wont get them indexed. post em to web 2.0 sites - blogger, wordpress, typepad, vox etc.

Also it seems people may be getting pinging and ping.fm mixed up on this thread

I can only speak from my own experience but Ive had very limited success with pinging/submitting rss feeds

I concur with this. Pinging and rss feed submits and aggregation resulted in merely frustration.

Oh yes indeedy I can't speak for others, but the profile links that Terry are I distribute and checked to confirm that the indexing of the links isn't blocked (spyglass is a wonderful thing).

      What exactly do you mean?

If I can see the profile without being logged into the site....it can be indexed right? I thought it was as simple as that.

      To all...

General summary of what I have learned so far... for people who coming looking though this tread in the future...

Everybody seems to have a different opinion on what works and what does not work. I could try everything, but don't know if thats such a great idea. If I do that, I will not know what exactly worked and will end up doing a lot of pointless work in the future every-time I need backlinks indexed...

      Possible methods:

      1. If you can afford it, get a script like Back Link Indexer Express to do the work for you. The script essentially is an autoblogging script. It takes your links from an RSS feed that you create using IceRocket....it then makes posts on to a number of Web2.0 properties like Blogger, Wordpress etc. and then pings those properties. If those get indexed, your links supposedly get indexed... Word on the street is that it works! So if you have the cash, do it.

      2. Now the above point brings me to the method I am using. Why not create a blogger blog myself, make a silly post and then just post all the 600 links in that post? Then ping that post once a day as well as add a link to that post to the worrior forum signature. I have done this, but sad to report that the blogger blog is still not indexed....not even checked the backlinks yet. I will keep you updated. Maybe its too early, since I put it up only 3 days ago. Will check it after a week unless somebody tells me why this will never work.

      3. Make an RSS feed and ping it. The word on the street is that this method is not that reliable.

I will let you guys know what worked in the end. Don't want to try too many things at a time or will be all confused as to what worked.

Not one single person has proven they count less now than at any stage in the past. Not one.

      And less in the future?

Lets see what Rand Fishkin over at SEOmoz has said about them recently:

"On nearly every commercially lucrative search results I pull up these days, I see bad links pushing bad sites into the top rankings at Google."

Ah, so profile and blog links DO still count then, according to an expert.

This is what I do, you can do what you want and people can say whatever they want........

Take each profile page and bookmark it to Digg and one other bookmarking site.

Once you've done that, take the urls of your bookmarks and the urls of your prolies and go to html2rss.com, create one rss feed for all of the urls, or split them up into batches of 50 since you have 600.

Now once you get your new rss feeds go to feedagg or feedbomb or any other rss agregator and submit them.

Then take your rrs feed urls, go to pingomatic and ping them.

This works for me. Do all my profile links get indexed?...no..........keep track of those that are not indexed after a week or two and do the whole process over again for the profiles that have not been indexed yet.

If you link to your new sites from an existing site that is indexed already it should get indexed next time Google crawls the site.

This is why I think Caffeine will be such an improvement. No more waiting weeks.

Nope thats not happening. I thought that thats how it would happen too..but its not!

Check the link in my signature. It is some silly blog post. Google has indexed this page for sure, but the silly blog is still not indexed. Its been 3 days since this thread started.

  • If Google can't find profiles on their own then ping away it's just a waste of time. It means they are worthless.

And you are also creating a massive footprint that can not be undone.

    Not a good tactic.

Why not copy and paste all the urls into a new web page and stick it on your server and let Google find the new html page on it's own and go through all the urls showing a backlink to your site?

I was given this easy tip to help get my backlinks indexed... and it seems to work. It's Google you are trying to impress ... so use Google to solve your problem.

If you have a gmail account and have ever taken the time to read the adsense ads in the right hand side when you open your emails... you will see Google are targeting the ads to you. They are constantly monitoring the subject and content of your emails.

They are all seeing and by spying on you... know more about you than your mother does. So give them what they want... feed them your URL and your new backlinks.

Use your gmail account... go create a second gmail account and send yourself an email with your backlinks in the content. Upon receipt forward it back to yourself again. Do this once a day for a few days and... watch Google eat them up.

WHOW!! This is great! Never came across this one before! Will sure give it a try.

Other than this I use backlinkbooster (dot) com

They offer both paid and free service and work really great. The priciple is viral in nature ´cause you hook your ping.fm acount into it. In that the back links get pushed to many sites.

What's the hurry? I never pinged one, and I arrived. The time you spend doing all of this could be spent producing more links, and more content. Just remember the guy that is behind you in the SERPS might link building and producing content, while you are too busy pinging, and will eventually pass you.

Frankly its kinda scary so many people with SEO services in their sigs or username are giving such dated and herd mentality advice.

"Build more crappy links that Google will never find because building more is more effective use of time" That's like saying .. go ahead and dig yourself out of a sand pit with a spoon whilst your competitors bury you with a Cat D9 Tractor.

If you had more of your links FOUND and credited by google perhaps you wouldnt need to buy/build as many?

A lot of indexing has to do with the quality of the site the profile was created. If Google bot does not visit the site it takes a much longer natural process to get them cached
