Hi,

I was wondering whether RSS submission will bring more backlinks.Anybody have experienced on this?

By the way, let say I combine two websites and create new feeds using yahoo pipes, can I submit to RSS directories? Will they accept my feed submission?

Can someone help?

As long as you are submitting to feeds that get used, it will create backlinks when people post your content from those feeds (assuming you have links in them).

Yes you can submit your feeds in directories. If you include links in them, you will get back links.

RSS feed submissions don't really help me get a massive amount of backlinks but my SE rankings do improve with them

Actually some of the RSS directories do give you do follow backlinks. You are right they are not many but there are some.

I think anyone who is blogging should be submiting their blog's RSS feeds to as many directories as possible

you can offer to interested sites RSS feeds for free. When the other site publishes your RSS feed, you will get a backlink to your site and potentially a lot of visitors, who will come to your site for more details about the headline and the abstract they read on the other site.

RSS feeds are helpful when you have various sites linking back to your main site. So for example if you create a satellite blog or a comment on a forum with anchor text linking back to your site, you can get the relevant RSS feeds, combine them into a new feed and submit that feed to the RSS aggregators.

This will help them to get indexed sooner and so make the backlink live for SE purposes.
