If your looking for a quick way to get your site listed in the search results for your keywords and you sell products try this technique. I use it for all my clients who have prodcut sites and it works very well.
Step One: Create an account with Amazon, Shopzilla, Ebay, and Yahoo shopping and upload your products into your own store. Once you have a store set up title your products with the keywords you want to focus on. Use the keywords in your prodcut description and list the same product for as many variations of the keywords that you want to optimize on.
Step Two: While setting up the products in your stores link each product back to your website but more specifically to your product page selling the product they were interested in.
Step Three: On your website include a link to your shopping comparisson store products. Here you want to link directly to the product they were visiting on your website.
These listings get indexed right away and your site will appear in the shopping results on the first page of Google almost everytime. Want to see a real world application just type in JU Dolphins T-Shirts and you will see that my client is ranked on the first, and second spot, then the first two spots in the shopping comparisson results, and if you click on every link on the first page you will find that my clients products are listed on them. If you have any questions please feel free to PM me for help. Thanks
Robert Thomas

      Hey Nick,
Im not sure what the search volume is for Aftershave but if people are looking for it online it will work very well. We typically dont do small sites but i can help you out as its not too time consuming. Let me know how i can contact you. Thanks

I don't want to sound like a jerk, but have you tried this with a site that doesn't literally have millions of backlinks?

If it's legit, it sounds pretty cool.. but it's pretty tough to draw conclusions when the site you are basing your various posts on literally has MILLIONS of backlinks.

I want to know your backlink strategy! Does your client have affiliates who post their product catalog on their own sites, all linking back to them (that was a clients site, correct?)?

edit: hmm, this post itself shows a way to do just that - generate a lot of links if you have a large product catalog... cool

      Hey Jason,
Thanks for the questions. Football Fanatics is a client, we took them on in 06 when we were working for Yahoo building a shopping platform for sports. yahoo .com/shop. Yahoo was looking for a way to monetize thier sports traffic and we had contacts at Football Fanatics which was a store in a local mall here in jax that had an online presence but not much of one. We worked out a revenue share model between Yahoo and Football Fanatics and built the framework for the cross flow integration of XML feeds to Yahoo and the tracking system that automized the payment from sales derived from Yahoo's traffic. In relation to the contract, Yahoo agreed to provide a large quantity of backlinks across their funnels that provided high quality, relevant backlinks in the initial two years. This helped us develop links to every page in their site. We built their site with several search optimized pages that would only show up in the SERP's and link back to a specific laser focused page. This is how we took them from 6M to 128M in two years.
