Hey everyone.

I have a unique challenge. I recently received an adwords promo credit which is only eligable on new accounts. I already had an account, but didn't want to give up the $100 credit, so I created a new account.

Our ads on the first account were converting really well and the Quality score was up around 6-7 on most.

Since starting the new account, both accounts' quality scores have gone down significantly as well as the minimum first page bid has substantially increased.

Note, both accounts' ads point to the same Sales Page URL's

Is anyone able to help?

Cheers,
Guy

As stated by google you can only have one adwords account. They might have given you a penalty because of the same exact campaign.

There are some people who got banned because of this.

But why are you running the same campaign through both the accounts at the same time? Once the free credit expired you could have resumed the campaign in the original account.

Amen, Coder. Don't want to lose $100 credit .. no problem that makes sense. Open a duplicate AdWords account against the TOS, and risk the whole ball of wax in order to 'save' that $100. Risky, but still, no problem, I can see the logic. But then to use clocks from the original account plus the 'free' clicks to point to the same landing page?

The logic totally escapes me ... and it looks like it might have confused Google too. Man this AdWords stuff is tough for tired old brains like mine.

buddy just read what you wrote quietly over and you will answer your own question.

and yes as mentioned a big no no to do what your doing, so stop wiggling your worm in G's pond or a big fish may come along and eat the smaller one.

    AdWords Account Guidelines
In order to preserve the quality and diversity of ads running on Google, individuals advertising for themselves or for their own businesses may only have a single AdWords account unless explicitly advised otherwise by Google.
This means that we don't allow advertisers or affiliates to have any of the following:

Ads across multiple accounts for the same or similar businesses
Ads across multiple accounts triggered by the same or similar keywords
Only client managers (such as third parties or search engine marketers) who use a My Client Center can have multiple AdWords accounts. All associated accounts must be linked to the manager's MCC account.

      Hey,

Thank you all for your help.
I'd kind of answered my question a few minutes after posting this question and paused the paid campaign.

      Thanks again,
      Guy

AdWords Keyword Tool to help you choose the right words and phrases for your business, and AdWords does not require a minimum monthly fee, so you can start slowly and adjust the budget as your business grows.
