Should I worry about CPC

I have just put up my fourth adsense site, 2 are sandboxed and one is earning, but when I check with keyword tools and google adwords tool it said that cost per click was $1.30, but I get anything from 30cent to 75cent. I see a site now that I want to put up, but the CPC on adwords is on .36cent, it has a global search of 12000, and I think I could get it to 2nd. first is a PR6 the rest all 2's and 1's. so should I worry about CPC?

    Not sure I'm clear on what you're asking. Are you earning $.30 to $.75 per click even though the Adwords keyword tool shows that the estimated CPC is $1.30?

    I don't think you can look at the Adwords keyword tool and get an accurate picture of what your site will earn off Adsense. You don't know which ads will run, exactly what keywords they're targeting, etc.

    $.30 to .75 is decent for Adsense earnings though, so it's a good start. Not a huge amount of money, but not bad either way.

      What I am trying to say is that when I am looking at keywords, and I see a keyword, which I think I could write content for easily, the search volume is good but the CPC is low say 30cent. should I then say that the site will not be worth it because the CPC is too low? or could I earn $1 per click. I am just wondering like you said how accurate are these tools for showing what CPC you will get

        They aren't accurate. That keyword tool is for adwords customers. It shows people what they could expect to pay to target that keyword in an adwords campaign. There is no way to know exactly what CPC you will get from your site, without actually building the site.

        But you can use common sense and figure out that if people are paying 30 cents for the keyword on the search results page, they will probably be paying a bit less for listings in the content network (your site).

          Agreed. You could use the tool to get a relative idea of keyword value, but it's not an indication of what you'll actually get.

          I can tell you that the big money keywords (the stuff the pays you the best from adsense) is normally more competitive, so you might have a harder time getting an edge in that niche.

          My goal at this point is to create sites that let people programatically create their own content for my site, which gets indexed and leads to lots of unique content. Some of the content/pages generate clicks over $1, some less. My suggestion: pick a category, get a lot of content out there and see what works.

    Keep in mind the google keyword tool is for adwords users. So the estimated cost per click is what people are paying to have their site listed in the search results. Not on your website.

    To your question. Should you build that site? Well, if it will make you more money then you spend, then it sounds like a winner to me. Even if it's 30$ a month. Worth it for me. Only you can decide if you should go after it though. Does the benefit outweigh the costs? If so, build it.

    What you siad and what you arte getting it's ok Suppose if cost per click $1 means not all the time publisher pay $1 some time they may charged by Google $.60 or $.70 and you will paid half of that

    Ads on The Content Network go for much less than what they go for on the search results. And that number you see is SUPPOSED to be for a high position on the SERPs. Check out Search-based keyword tool and see what the CPC is there, I bet it is much lower.

    So which keyword tool is correct, your guess is as good as mine. But I would go with the one I listed as MORE accurate. And then you are going to get 68% of that fee, according to what Google has stated. But always remember, Google has a way of discounting the price for various reasons for good customers. You are only going to be paid based on what Google receives.

    If you want to find out how to find high paying keywords for your AdSense sites, check out Sean Donahue's WSO. He has a couple of videos in the listing that you can watch and learn a hell of a lot from. This was some of the best information I learned on picking keywords, and it was for free. Of course he is trying to sell you his SEO product, but you don't have to buy it to watch the videos. The link is below.

    I don't think you need to bother with CPC of less than $2 to $5 or more if you want to. There is lots of stuff out there that pay very well.
