Effect of Do Follow on Site Ranking

Hi warriors,

I am aware when you make your blog "do follow", then you pass on link juice to those who comment on your blog.

The aspect i want to clarify is whether you loose page rank as you pass on this link juice to those who comment on your blog or not.

Does it have any detrimental effect on your blog/site rankings?

Yes, it can have a detrimental effect if the person who posts on your blog links to a site that google considers dodgy.

On the flip side, having dofollow will provide an incentive for people to post on your blog, and google will look positively on this regularly updating content. Although, you'll have your work cut out for you in sorting through the posts and only choosing those that link to reputable sites - more work than worth in my opinion.
