Found a 2 word niche with avg.bid of $10+. Exact monthly searches is quite high, almost 4k I think.

Just launched it today with a single article on Wordpress.

Perfect SEO is a combination of both:
1. high quality high PR links.
2. low PR one way links from diverse range of IP's.

(1) is to pass trust rank.
(2) is for ranking.

Update.
June 28: Site isn't indexed yet. Ordered one Web 2.0 properties blast, this includes article directory submission, videos etc. Also started a campaign for profile backlinks.

You checked the competition too, you did? Wish you much luck in dominating the niche :-).

    Doing the maths -

    [4000]/month = [133]/day.
    Position 1 gets around a 50% CTR = [67]/day.
    Clicks/day = 10% (very optimistic) = 6.7 clicks/day.
    $100/6.7 clicks = $15 per click.

    Good luck!

How about possible long tail keywords he may rank for plus the number of pages the website will have??

If you are talking adsense for content - I'd say the above is WAY optimistic.

Where did you get 50% from?

Yep, an autoblog with EDM ranks #5 at the moment.

Thanks. I only plan to get on Top 5 though. #1 is a bonus but will probably take 3 months.

Good call, I'm doing autoblog so should get those as well.

Yes, adsense for content, adsense for search is even harder to hack.

Thank you and yes, will update.

Update: Site is indexed but cache seems to show information from before I built out the site.

That is my average CTR for a 1st position keyword across many keywords. Data taken from Google Webmaster Tools.

Are they mainly low traffic keywords? I have noticed some weird things with googles predicted search volume. On low volume phrases sometimes I get more clicks than google says there are searches, but on higher volume searches (20,000+) I only get a fraction of the clicks when at #1, no where near 50% which is why I am curious.

A ten dollar bid will get you anywhere from 3 to 5 bucks for each ad click at best. Check the competition and their seo. Don't forget to target the longtalis as well. Good luck.

Nah, I don't have one with that sort of impressions (20k) at number 1 so can't comment on the high traffic terms. The ones that are lower than average are usually near the Google Shopping pages. They are more attractive than any text link so will steal clicks. You might want to check that out (or Videos/Images).

& what about the top paying keywords list? how to make them useful ?
    {{ DiscussionBoard.errors[2285633].message }}
  • Profile picture of the author Fraggler
You don't need those lists. You just need to think of markets where a customer is worth a lot of money to the advertiser. The product doesn't have to be high cost if it is a continuity program; it doesn't have to be a product if the service is relatively expensive or on-going.

CPA offers are probably the easiest way to research high paying niches. Check out Affiliate Marketing - Find the Best Affiliate Program and CPA Offers from OfferVault and look at the high paying offers to see the different markets willing to pay a lot for a lead. These markets will not only have affiliates trying to grab the leads using PPC such as AdSense, but the product/service owner as well will be chasing the same leads - but have a lot more to spend.

UPDATE: My site is indexed at #10 for the KW. Will work it up to Top 5, Top 3 then #1.

    I'll come back in 1 week or 2 with a ranking/earning update.

    Ciao.
