From #13 to #2 to #13 to #2 again in minutes!!!

Whoa!!! My site debuted at #13 on Google for my key phrase 4 days ago. It stayed there until I came home after buying then eating dinner just 30 minutes ago where it suddenly was on number #2. Then I went out to pee and when I came back, it went back down to #13.

And so I sat down and logged on to Warrior Forum to whine. But before typing this post, I checked Google again and my site was back on #2!!!

Can someone explain this to me? I went through a mini-emotional rollercoaster. And now I'm afraid to check Google again for fear that it might move back to #13.

If your site is new, this is completely natural. This is nothing but Google Dance and it happens with everybody - mostly in case of new site. However you may face Google Dance while building backlinks.

    Regards,

Thats the google dance and its normal

What I'll do is not worry about it at all. Keep building backlinks and check back again after 1-2 months.

So always come here at the Warrior forum and don't pee ;~)
Just kidding... It always happen because there are so many servers
that handle data. Like what they said, google is dancing. Search
for google dance checker to see what in their search result for
    each server.

...You're checking way too often, you're going to give yourself grey hairs this way. Just relax and check every week or so.

I'm having the same thing happening to my website, but mine is not a new site, it's 2 years old.
My website has been sitting on page 6 of Google for over 12 months. recently I decided to do a few social bookmarks and a couple of articles.

The other day my website was on page one of Google for 3 hours then it went back to page six. Next day it went back to page one again, but only stayed there for approx 1 hour?

Is this what you call the Google Dance? What should I be doining to stay on page one?

Check your alkaline level. Its a known fact that Peeing can get your site ranked high on Google. Googles loves low acidic content.

Are you sure you are not having customized search results? Make sure the customization is disabled before getting overly excited

This is absolutely a Google Dance, this is a status where Google is trying to find out a place or ranking for your site knowing that your site is still new.

I'm at #15 now. This sucks!!!!!

It's like I'm going all-in with the best hand before the flop and my opponent gets me on the river. This just outright sucks!!!!!

I find this happens for at least 3 months after I launch a new site.

Also, if you are building backlinks unnaturally then that will also have an effect so make sure you implement a consistent backlinking system.

Google dance is the frequent changes in Google rankings due to an update in google algorithm. Such kind of inconsistencies in ranking will exist for some period of time only.

Nope. Not logged in at all.

First lesson when working with seo, do not be concerned about new site rankings. tehy will always fluctuate like this. It will most likely settle at #2 in a few days if you continue to build links.Get used to it.
