Hey warriors,

Putting together an offline seo business and I'm stuck on a tagline..So far I came up with

1. Got SERPS?
2. Ranks in the SERPS - Not the sand!
3. Working harder...To hide your paid links from Matt Cutts
4. Just 2.0 it

Just a few I came across, anyone have some ideas?

Honestly, i don't think that those are pretty good taglines, but if i had choose, i would choose "Got Serps?".

LOL..Thats a good one..I like it, would you think most offline business would even know what page 1 means in that sense?

How about "translating research into results"

Yeah SERPs, Matt Cutts, and web 2.0 are all things online marketers and SEO's might understand, they are not going to be understood by your average offline business person. You should try and put yourself in the shoes of someone who has no understanding or experience of online marketing, seo, etc.

I know it is sometimes difficult to be objective in situations like this when you are so involved so it may be wise to actually go around and ask other people/businesses what they think of when they would want their business to rank high in search engines. Off the top of my head I would think terms like:

    top placement in google
    get on top in google
    be seen above your cometition
add you business to google (yahoo?, bing?)

things like that would probably be more successful for the market you are targeting. Not to say that the ones I gave are great by any means as I wrote this really quick and have to get back to actual work, but that is the direction I would go.

    Good Luck.

        @EFitnessNYC Love this forum post.

How about this one to target middle aged male business owners:

Can't Get it Up In Google? We're like Viagra for SERPs.

A couple things to consider about your market.

Generally speaking, offline business people are clueless about anything internet. So you will often hear the term "The Google" rather than referred to as the entity "Google".

SERP is not a common term, nor is "rank" amongst offline business. Ranking to an offline business person will usually conjure thoughts and images of who is the best business/person in my industry/location.

The most frequently used term that I have found with offline business people is "the google search". Variations of that phrase seem to be pretty common place.

"Where am I on the google"
"My site is number 5 on the google search"
"My customers can find me on the google page"

    etc.

    Speak their language, not yours/ours.

    Hope that helps a little.
