      Keep it simple.
      Think how the page you are looking for will be written.
      Describe what you need with as few terms as possible.
      Choose descriptive words.

        Search boxes on all pages won't work. People search from
        google.com, not your site. To me it's a waste of space.

        The best pace to have it is on a page that begs the reader
        to do a search.

        Example, a page that gives the top ten beaches in America.
        Do the list, with a one line sentence. At the bottom of the
        list, put a search box, above write: Get more information on
        these beaches by doing a search.

        For normal content, it's difficult to get any searches.
        This flies in the face of what google recommends.

        Remember that google wants their search box in as many places as possible.
        But it's not always best for your particular website.
