Facebook just doesn't sell

Ok, everybody is sharing a successes here. But I thought it is worth knowing what not to do. Namely trying to sell a product on the FaceBook.
I have this little robotics gizmo that really sells as a hot cake. That is if I sell it through the robotics forum. That way I sold 30 so far. So I said, lets try a bigger wide world and start advertising on AdWords and FaceBook. If they sell on the forum, they must be selling to the similar targeted audience. Additionally I can laser target on both AdWords and FB, since I can target either hot keywords or just people with specific interest in robotics.
So I placed few ads on FB and AW and result is zilch. On FB I had 150 clicks, CTR of 0.12%, which should be quite good and nobody bough a single piece. AW sold a few, but really just a few. It seems that FB is only for happy go lucky CPA offers, where people are not obliged to buy anything.
