I'm FINALLY on Google #1

Just gotto share with all of you. My website has been sitting in the back alley on google page #36 for the longest while and I had no idea how to boost my webpage up.

Then 2 months ago, I started searching in this forum again to do some massive action.

I managed to get a press release to get me that article on google page 1 #1 with 3 keywords, and on google news #1 for a couple of weeks. But my actual website was still sitting in Google page 5 or page 6 with those keywords, sometimes up to page 3.

And today, for the keyword - only 2 keywords - my website got to Google page 1, #3. Wow, that is fantastic. The competition of that keyword is about 2,000,000.

I can't believe that this thing works!
I am no expert in IM but I am becoming one because I can just follow what I did to these keywords I was targeting and apply my same procedures to the other keywords.

    Congrats.

How much did the PR cost you? And also where did you go? I'm considering writing press releases and have had some experience. I haven't dabbled in it just yet.

        The PR cost me $19.

After I did that PR, that PR stayed at #1 in google.com. It's been 2 months now. I only did one cuz I was not sure whether it really works but it is still there.

I used part of the keywords that I targeted for in that particular PR and then I google searched and saw my own website on google page 1.

The fact that my website has gone on page 1 might be due to a lot of other things I did in the last 2 months. I wrote a few articles. I submitted my site to a few directories and I did some backlinks. I didn't use any softwares to do these things cuz I am not good with softwares so everything was done manually. So what I did was quite limited.

The keywords I was targeting in that PR might have helped to boost my website up. I really do not know the answer to this one.

Well, if someone forwarded my PR and effected that rank - that is great. But who would do that for me for free?

        Hi Rosa

Congrats on getting on page 1

Can you share with us your strategies for this or did you buy a WSO to advertise for you.

We could all do with some PR juice so the info would be appreciated.

All the best and congrats once again.

          Hi Kevin,

I just found this out today when I google searched those keywords.

I just can't believe a 2 keyword thing brought my site to google #1.

I now have to think back what I did in the last 2 months and figure out what the strategy is. LOL!

I'm terrible. I don't like to repeat things that don't work. That's why I only did ONE PR only. I chose a paid one thinking that free ones get us nowhere.

I'm not good with computer technical stuff like doing all these SEO codings for my website because my onpage SEO is not optimized. I am actually depending on off page to SEO my site.

To tell you the truth: I used very limited resource.
          I'm not a software person.
I only try things once or twice to see if the methods work.

Now that I see it working, I will go through this same strategy again for other keywords and let's see what happens. The results should show in the next 2 weeks or so.

        • Do check with other browser and through proxy like vhide.info and others. Most of the time searching with different browser and/or proxies (to simulate different condition) will bring a different organic search result. Sound strange at fist, but it's true. Try it.

  • Hi Rosa, first of all, congratulation for your archievement

About the proxy thing, try open Fast free anonymous proxy to hide your IP address - VectroProxy and enter Google on the url box (I just tried vhide.info but looks like it's down at this moment). The google page will be opened. Enter the keyword on the google page. Compare the result you get when you search directly without through vectroproxy.com

Note that the sponsor link also different. This is especially true when you're on different country with vectroproxy.com
As we know, google will direct us to different result based on our country (ip address, localization)

Yes jeff, I plan to do this. It's something that I really want to share the success. I am working on a report now to make it easy especially for newbies to follow.

When I did it, I did some kind of 'twist' on the title to get myself ranked on 2 different sets of keywords and it wroked. At the time, I was thinking - it is a paid one, so why not use the most out of it. And suprisingly it worked.

Later, I wanted to change it but it was too late but in the end, it was better not to have it changed cuz I managed to get #1 there on 2 sets of keywords.

It's sorta 2 for the price of 1 and I only submitted one PR.

I want to write a good report on this - to show screen shots and write out all the details otherwise people will tell me that when they do it, it doesn't work. That is very discouraging. So it is better to have some proofs and screen shots so people have something on-hands to follow for their targeted keywords.

I just want to share that you can get on #1, #2 and #3 even with your own website without being an IM expert or SEO expert. I certainly am not and this is a comfort to all of us trying to get our IM working.

Once you find that path, you just follow the same steps with other keywords.

I thank all for all your responses.

Sometimes, I think maybe a one good quality submission is better than lots of free quantity submission.

And if we know how to get one good quality method that works, maybe then we will gain the wisdom to apply to lots of free quantity methods to explode the effectiveness.

        I sure hope so.

I was sure that somehow a report will popup. Anyway to check very accurate for keywords ranking I suggest to use Cuterank. It has a free version which works with one website and you can check all the main search engines on all their domains.

This is not Dan Tan's press release. I bought his package which is excellent and I plan to implement it when I get around to it. Still sitting in my computer waiting for me to get to it. The list that Dan has is an excellent one and what's more - FREE service. I really should get to that one day.

I submitted to a paid service & it is only $19.

I don't have time to do a lot of free services because I want my time well spent and that was the reason I chose a paid one. It was a random choice but it certainly works.

My site has literally thousands of 2 and 3 keyword combinations that come up number one at Google. Most of them are totally useless because those keyword combinations are almost never typed in by people searching at Google.

I understand why pianorosa doesn't want to disclose which phrases he has ranked #1 for and I'm not asking him to because it's not necessary to the point I'm making in this post. But without that information, ranking #1 tells me nothing.

The number of results also means little to nothing if the search phrases were not inside quotes. Without quotes Google reports the number of pages that contain any of the words individually. That can be a huge number of results if either or all of the words are common. But together, as a phrase, perhaps no one is searching for it.

For example, in quotes the words "panacea timezone" get no results at Google because there are no web pages with that phrase on them. So getting number one would be pretty easy since there is no competition. Without quotes, however, the same two words return 237,000 results! So don't be fooled into thinking that you've obtained a number one ranking for a phrase with 237,000 competing web pages.

The only thing that matters to me is how much additional revenue the page is earning because of a search results improvement. Or at the very least, the additional traffic to the page. Being number one is kind of neat, but not necessarily profitable.

Rick B : I totally agree with you there.

I myself started out researching keywords in a way a lot of n00bs start out. I found a bogus video tutorial which I bought and went thru the google suggestion tool thinking those were the most searched for words within that niche ( thats what the tutorial said ).

When I went after the keyword I got to #3 and was like w000000000w...but nothing happened. Hardly any visits with no money. Sure enoguh I found out that only 50-60 people a month type it in

You have to do your keyword research very well. The 2 most important factors in my book are : global monthyl search count & top 10 sites already at gooogle.

I use to have small standards of atleast 1000 ex.glob.search and atleast 3 PR0 sites in top 10. But when you find dozens if not hundreds of words with global search of over 10 000 along with 6-8 PR0 sites....you start to wonder whether or not its worth going after the "small" ones

      Sincerely, I.B.

I just decided yesterday that I won't target any keyword phrase without at least 20,000 monthly global searches at Google. I ran a lot of figures and decided that the time and expense involved to reach a high enough search position to generate a decent return on investment was extremely difficult with a phrase that doesn't get at least that many searches.

Of course, if you sell cars or real estate or some other type of high commission item you might be profitable with less popular phrases.

In any case, I wish someone would have told me when I started doing this 13 years ago that getting a #1 search position at Google for a phrase that no one searches for is useless.

          Hi Rick,

this all depends on the keyword at hand.

My friend has a site ranked #1 for a keyword with 1300 exact global count. From adsense and amazon alone he get around 100$ a month just from that site.

Its obvious that product related KW will get you more from amazon as well as adsense, cause we all know that product searchers tend to click more.

Good job; sometimes the littlest things can make a major difference...

I am sitting at #7 or #8 (depending on the week) on Google's first page for one keyword in the weight loss niche out of 950,000 competitors; and I didn't do anything but submit seven Ezine articles.

And I've gotten sidetracked the last few months and haven't done anything else to it, but it sits there and drives visits every day.

If your new to internet marketing you'll do yourself a big favor reading Hobbster's post over and over until it's throughly embedded in your mind. It's short, to the point and one of the most valuable tidbits of information in becoming successful at earning money on the web.

If that is your objective, your first question before spending time doing anything should be, "Will this action likely result in more money in my pocket"?

Reaching #1 in the search results will only do that if it results in sales or advertising income. Keywords that no one searches for or ones that don't convert to sales are useless except for stroking the ego.

Keyword research first ... then internet marketing.
