Hi guys,

I am starting my first adwords campaign and need some help.

everything has been pretty simple so far

But now I want to add conversion data to my tracking.

I have my code ready just wanted to check which code to put on which page.

do I put the conversion tracking code on the sales page or on the page they are sent to after paypal payment?

I assume it is the second.

thanks
dan

Dan, yep you should be fine with that, keep an eye on it to see that the conversion registers.

I do know i had some issues with a auto responder where the person went out / came back (the flow was stopped / restarted) but all should be good.

Hey JR, so you know in Adwords when you drop down your the reporting tab (i think!) you have the conversions tab - you can set up a number of different conversions - eg. leads, sale etc... these will each have a slightly different conversion tracking code. so if it is only 2 types of conversion you want to track then you should just use the tracking code from say leads for the first thing you want to track & use the tracking code from sales for the second thing you want to track. And yes the tracking code should only be put on the thankyou page - not the order page. The only place conversion tracking code should ever placed is the first screen users see after their transaction was successful. Hope that helps! I'm aa bit drunk so if it doesn't PM me tomorrow & I will be happy to explain in less Beerish terms!
