no one will ever know unless you work at Google. Based upon the prior ones, earlier this week was the likely scenario, although that went and passed. That being said, some sites have updated their PR, but there just hasn't been a global PR update.

It should be going on right now but I don't know if it actually is yet. They could have changed the schedule.

I think it's more likely to be August / September time, based on when the last one is.

Although I would say - I can't remember the last time I went through my sites and checked the page rank (maybe I've got too many sites to check!). If you've got ranking and traffic, it doesn't matter what PR you've got. If you haven't got decent ranking, concentrate on that rather than chasing PR.

I base this on the fact that in the past I had a PR4 site that got a third of the traffic of a PR0 site. As much as I liked the fact that google seemed to like my PR4 site a lot, in the end it doesn't really mean much.

    Vanity doesn't equal money!

I agree, I think people still get too hung up on PR. It's like waiting for a good grade from your teacher, makes you feel good for a while but wont help you pass the exam and get a good job! At the end of the day though it is a "badge of honour" to show people ho well you're doing

There's several other reasons why PR may matter for someone.

      (1) maybe you want to sell some links on your site? PR matters

      (2) maybe you want to use some of your domains as backlinking sources for other domains that you own? PR mattes.

Good point Sentient. I think too many people get hung up on PR when they should be getting links from sites that are trusted.

I have had a pr change on a couple of my sites so I guess it's already started, one site in particular is only 2 months old and just gained a pr last week.

I can confirm the same, some sites have and some have not,

Sites hosted on servers outside of the United States have not updated at all yet,

I did not intend the thread to go the route of "PR is not important vs important " debate. I was just looking to see if anyone knew when the update was coming or if they experienced it.

I like to see the PR update especially for my backlinks, that way I can see which one ended up being the strongest. It's not the msot accurate tool but theirs nothing else to test it besides doing 1 BL on a web-page a month and looking at the rankings... then again age would still be an important factor so...

There are some real benefits to having a high PR link, IE: Increases value of site, opportunity to sell backlinks, etc...

It seems like this update has been delayed!

It should have had been pushed by the first week of July.

I said this in another thread, I will say it again here

It is POINTLESS leaving threads asking when the next update is because NOBODY other than the people at Google know

Unless someone from Google comes here and tells everyone when the next update is you will not get an answer and I don't see Google employee's replying to this thread do you?

I disagree with you. When you hear that a number of people are seeing changes (up or down) on PR then it is a good indicator that it has or is occurring.

        Horse mess!!

sometimes pages can go up or down, an inner page on one of my sites went from a 2 to 1 the other day but that is not an update, when there is an update you will know about it, it happens all in one go

        set4bet.co.uk

I know for a fact that a few months ago that site had very few links going to it

now there are 75000 (and number 7 for online casino on google.co.uk) and it's still a pr0 and I can tell you for sure that when the update does happen it will be at least a 4

Like I originally said, it's pointless asking about a PR update in forums because nobody other than Google knows so all you end up with is a bunch of uninformed guesses

Well, still a 0 here since april. But maybe that WAS the update and I'm just a 0? *shrugs* I don't care, as long as Google isn't penalising me or anything--because we seemed to build backlinks really quickly, but the real story is we are an old site that moved to a new one and couldn't use the old domain. Those backlinks from the old site all got switched to the new one, and in addition to a few actual new ones, made it appear like a brand new site got a burst of links. We may be a 0 but we are ranking very well for some keywords.

Thanks DP! Yeah we rank first, that is our top keyword too though only for percentage wise and bounce rate, we had #1 for a LOT of others before our old site went down we had like 3000 uniques a day. Little by little we are getting it back!

Our rank on SE's is going well, PR is still only 0, I guess it shows that PR really doesn't matter nearly as much as a lot of people think!

My site's got like over 100,000 backlinks. Total, though, not the number of domains. Because we have footer links on several related forums that really inflate that number. Some of them are high PR sites, most are low. We're a 0. I think there's no way to know just what Google expects of a site to give it a certain PR. I know we've been 0 genuinely at least since June because we were n/a in mid april when we started.

    Go to https://siteexplorer.search.yahoo.com/uk

it doesn't show (many) duplicate domains and will give you a much better idea of the number of domains that link to you

PR changes usually happen at the 4th week of every quarter. Same thing happened for 3rd and 4th Qtrs 2009, and 1st Qtr 2010. I just don't know why it's delayed this 2nd Qtr 2010.

I haven't noticed any changes except when it comes to PPC, traffic is increasing there.

I think with caffeine it's more of an ongoing phenom and there is less PR weight.
