I updated my title and description yesterday. However, google has already updated my title this morning but description google is displaying is just a random sentence from my site. Is that normal? Can anyone tell me why is google not displaying my main description.

Are you saying about the META tag description or the description that you've given to the Google submit page ?

Where did you get that nonsense from?

Do a search for a few things in Google - anything --- look at the results.... how often do you see the meta description displayed?

Do a search for anything in google. Find a result that has a snippet that does not look like the meta description. 99.9% of the time the site does have meta description.

here is challenge for you ... do what I suggested. Prove me wrong. Find me a search result that shows a snippet of text in the search results for site that is not from the meta tag and that site does not have a meta description tag. Anyone reading here can go and do this and see you talking nonsense.

To save you the trouble here is a search result I picked for no particular reason:
how to fix a leaking tap - Google Search=

Most of the results have a snippet that is not the meta description. I checked the first five sites and they all have a meta description (thats 100% rather than the 99.9% I said above) ... do you think Google is going to start using those meta descriptions given more time? (as that is what you are claiming)
