Strange Google results - keyword selection -

I have two options to choose the domain name

Option I

.com is available but there are 2 websites one with PR4 (mayo clinic) and the other with PR 5 (wiki) in the first page. The all have anchor text and anchor title with the same keyword I am looking at. What is strange that is there are at least two other websites with the PR of 2 ahead of Wiki and Mayo clinic? How could this be possible? Will I be able to beat Wiki and Mayo Clinic?

Option II

.net is available but there are already two sites with PR4 and one PR5 ranking with the same keyword; No other sites in the first page have PR 3+ ranking

Am I wasting my time with this keyword? The thing is, I am passionate about the product and I already have a decent blog ready! Just need to get a domain name and transfer the files

How critical is to match the keyword with the domain name?

Your opinion is appreciated; Thanks

Not super duper important although handy.
The net is littered with high ranking sites with no mention of the niche they are in that is in the URL.

For example, I have a site craigmcpherson.info that is ranked #1 out of 197 million for the term

free money making website - Google Search

Obvioulsy no mention of money in my name.

Why not try both? Turn it into an experiment. Plus, when you are done, you could have TWO sites in the top 10!
