I got hired today to help a friend build a website (wordpress) for a new network marketing company that he thinks will take off.

Right now there is only 1 page on top first page of google with a PR of over 0, not even the company has their site with PR of over 0.

People will be searching company name, so....

Should I build the site on:

1. Brand new domain name with my keyword in the url? Ex: keyword-Opportunity.com

-OR-

2. Buy a domain name that has an existing PR of 3 and add company name behind the .com? Ex: NonKeyword.com/Keyword that has PR of 3 and age of 4 years. It's a generic domain name called reason brand . com which actually could work for this new company.

Thanks in advance for your help, I can not wait to give out some Thanks.

How much is the pagerank 3 domain? If it's reasonable I would consider that. Getting a pr3 domain saves you time. Put a blog on it and start posting immediately. When you create you links just use the keywords your targeting, change the title to the keyword you are targeting. I'll give you an example - When you search for the keyword "domains" what's the first site that comes up? Now tell me, does that site have the word "domains" in the have that keyword in the domain? No.

You can build a brand-name around an aged domain and rank for the niche you've targeted with a smart linking system that utilizes keyword anchor text.

if you are planning to drive traffic via SEO with keywords other than the company name then go for the aged domain with a PR of 3. It takes a while and a lot of link building to get a new domain name to a PR of 3.

If the company name is unique enough, you shouldn't have problem ranking for the company name no matter what the domain is.

If SEO is not a traffic driver then I would go with the new domain name.

$100 is nothing for the amount of work that it takes to get a site to PR 3.
