Hi Everyone

Absolutly love the forum, only been on the UK affiliates forum really up until now so a breath of fresh air

I have been online for a few years but wondering what you think the best way of increasing the PR of the backlinks I already have pointing to my site? (most are articles via my article marketing campaign so not links pages)

Have articles pointing to those link pages (5-10 articles)
Create a range of PR Pumpers as I have heard them called
Submit a range of RSS Feeds although im not sure if this would effect the PR?

I am only looking for them to improve maybe to PR1 as my competitors have mostly PR0 links so wont take much to beat them but would rather have higher quality PR than they do of course

Cheers very much everyone

Rob

I know this is probably not the response you're looking for, but I wouldn't worry about the PR of your old backlinks. I would focus on finding new quality links to your site itself.

First, PR is practically meaningless, Google has said so themselves. As well, search engines do like finding new links to your website, not just the old one's.

A few new links will likely have a better impact impact than you're looking for by attempting to improve the PR of your old links.

      Hello

      many thanks for your reply

I thought it would help to give them a little boost but understood and Interesting to hear pr isn't as important on a link as it used to be, for articles anyway

I will keep adding then instead of improving the current ones

      cheers very much

I would concentrate on trying to get a few backlinks from higher PR sites. And yes, the PR does matter when it comes to backlinks as it puts more weight on the backlink. I've seen sites with just a few high PR backlinks beat out sites with thousands of crap backlinks so it does obviously matter.

Why would you spend effort to build the PR of someone else's page, when you can simply just get more backlinks for yourself?

Tina hit the nail on the head on this one - If you want to increase your PR then you need to get good quality high PR back links, preferably with very few other external links on the page sharing the PR juice.

For example; a back link to your website on a PR8 site along with 100 other links will be a very weak link as far as PR is concerned because you will only get 1/100 of the PR juice.

Quality over quantity and stay away from link pages crammed with links and your well on your way to increasing your PR.

Also keep in mind Google pays attention to the rate at which your site acquires back links. You should continue to grow your back link profile indefinitely. Building some links then trying to improve those same links is not the best use of your time. Also, as TMG mentioned, why help someone else's domain, rather than your own?

Just build more links, but make sure you are in the excepted range of link graph velocity for your niche.

Also make sure you mix up the anchor text, have a decent range of C Blocks and target multiple pages all the time...

I think the best way to increase page rank with backlinks is by submitting your blog to directories and you can get free ones online. You would just have to input the captchas. I think this is how I am getting my blog ranked well in search engines.

Make sure you have seo (such as an seo pack) set up for your website or blog.
