New Niche Backlinking, How to Approach?

If a niche site is new, should I focus more on building links to homepage or right to the pages I'm try to rank for? Would link juice from homepage be more effective for ranking all my pages faster? Any opinions on this would be helpful, thanks.

    Build back links to the page you want to get ranked, by building links to your homepage the link juice and PR juice will be split amongst all external do-follow links on your page.

      Do both, make sure your interlinking between pages. Aim to get inner pages ranked for the same keywords your posts on the home page are targeting.

        I usually focus on getting backlinks to my main page first. Then write more pages based on related keywords. All your inside pages should be accessible on your homepage and your inside pages should link out to the homepage.

    CONTENT FIRST. If you have crappy content that isn't valuable to anyone, your visitors will just leave. So you don't really even have a chance of them clicking on your ads.

    MAKE Your CONTENT sell your ads. For example tell your users, Niche Product X has a massive markup in retail stores, so I recommend shopping online to compare prices so you get the best deal.

    BACKLINKS SECOND. OK, like everyone is doing to niche thing and good domains are harder to find, so you need to take that extra above and beyond step to make websites get ranked and get traffic. Maybe your competitor has 5 backlinks, so you need 15. Don't just pass your competitor because all it will make them do is make more backlinks, blow them away. This will also ensure a long term ranking, and will discourage others from competing for that keyword.

    CHANGE YOUR SIGNATURE. Once you get into this rinse and repeat mode, you always need to do something different on each site. Maybe you add in a different widget or something.
