I have a website with google ads on it and it receives traffic everyday but visitors do not click on my ads. I need to know why it is so and the solution to the problem. I need your contributions please. Thank you.

    You can increase the CTR (clickthrough) on those ads by changing their position on the page. CTR tends to increase move the ads
    * higher up on the page
    * from right to left
    * mix them with the text on the page rather than than place them separately (as in a sidebar)

    Also, keep in mind click through rates (CTR) for on-page ads are very, very small. You can help with this by making your website more trustworthy (make it look more customized and expensive, have image ads instead of text ads, have ads that people want to click on) but ultimately know that the CTR will be less than 1%. It will most likely be closer to .1% or .2%. That means that for every 1000 visitors you get, maybe 1 or 2 will click an ad.

    Are those the kinds of numbers you're seeing?

    Agreed, typically Google Ads have a low CTR. I know you stated you already have traffic, but attempting to drive even more traffic is probably your best route. More traffic will inevitably mean more clicks.

    Before my current position, I ran a blog with Google Ads, and I found social media to be my best friend for driving meaningful traffic.

  • Increasing CTR is a whole science now. Move ads to left-top corner, make them the same color as your navigation menu, do not overwhelm your pages with ads, etc. Just search in google for it, there are many sites dedicated to this issue.

    Hi sam236,

    The key to making money with AdSense is targeted traffic. Not just targeted traffic, but traffic that is targeted towards keywords with high commercial intent.

    Is your traffic extremely targeted? Do the keywords that generate your traffic reflect commercial intent?
