Google Adwords Keyword Tool Question

Hi all,

This is probably a stupid question, but I can't seem to find the answer in Google help. The graph that displays the local search volume in the Keyword tool, does that display January as the 1st month, or the current month first?

    Yep to the best of my knowledge, it is Jan at the left and Dec at the end. That is how the Trend graphic works, I guess this is what you mean.

      Wow that's strange. I was looking at a football niche (season begins in a couple of months), and the graphs high points were at position #4 and #5 (corresponding to the football off season).

      One other question I have is regarding how often google updates the monthly search volume. If a niche becomes more and more popular is it reflected right away or does it only update once per year?

    I would think that high traffic in off season makes sense... people can't sit in front of the tube and watch games and highlights etc so they head to the 'net to get their fix.

    i saw the same exact type of off season trend when looking up 'pool toys'. It practically disappears in the summer months and is HUGE in the winter months. Weird. Now how to capitalize on it! WOOT!

    download results in a .csv file and it'll spread the months out in columns so you can see for yourself. i forget and dont have the time to check right now but that little method will give you the precise answer.
