Adwords Help a few different questions

Hello everyone.

I am new to PPC advertising like a great deal of people are here.

I have been a silent lurker stealing information with my eyes. I feel that I have done enough research to know what people are talking about. I now know what the right questions are to ask. So hopefully with that I will be able to understand the answer since I have a very minimal grasp of the questions.'

I hope to become an active poster on this forum.

I am not new to online marketing but I am new to PPC advertising. I have done SEO a little over 3 years ago now. And a great deal has changed. I am sick of my job and my line of work so I am going to do what it takes to make PPC advertising work for me.

I do not desire to cover the actual selling of products. But the actual generating of traffic on using adwords specifically.

Now this is not a question that can be easily answered but how many keywords are ran per ad on your campaigns on average. I understand that relevancy is of the up-most importance. But on average I have found that I am from 10 on the most specific words. And about 100 on some of the more generalized descriptions.

What is your average keyword count per ad group?

I myself have been doing a great deal of work on quality score. I can manage to get 10/10 on a few keywords with a few ads and the rest are 7/10 and above never below. If I get anything below I will re write the ad to make it fit better with the keywords.

I am aware that we are all shooting for a 10/10 quality score for all ads and keywords. But is there a point where you are just pulling out your hair.

What is your average Quality score that you shoot for with your ads and keywords.

Does anyone know of any free keyword list software that will sort keyword lists by relevancy to one another, or does something like that only come at a very high price?

I spent more time on my negative keyword list then I did on my bid keyword list. I feel that this is something that a great deal of people who are new overlook. They might be thinking I want all the traffic. But I know that I want as much traffic as possible I just only want it as specific as possible.

Is there a purpose to adding in typo keywords to your existing ads group keyword list. Or is that something that has been phased out with the advancement of googles adwords and search programs over the years.

Now I have set out a budget and everything like that along side with a plan. My plan is I do not want to bid on the really expensive keywords, and focus on a great deal of the less popular keywords. Now that I have done this I am not consuming my daily budget. So the question at hand is how to get more traffic using the google adwords ppc program but how do I do it without breaking the bank, and tanking a huge risk in something I really do not know a great deal about.

I am apprehensive of bidding on the most commonly used keywords for a couple of reasons. A great deal of these keywords are very very broad. And I am afraid that they will not convert as good as a more specific keyword will get. But then again I don't know for sure because I am so new to this.

So what do you think would be my best coarse or action here?

Should I raise my bids on keywords.
Should I add more keywords to my existing campaigns
Should I consider bidding on more expensive keywords.

The amount of traffic has been very very minimal and so is my daily budget.

The product I have selected to sell is not a super competitive product like weight loss pills or nothing like that. My advertising budget is a very very small 50.00 a day. And it is that low so I can figure out the ropes. I figure if I can make a few cents from a few dollars I will be onto something.

I know that google has a macro function
i cannot seem to find documentation on it IE how to use it

is it used something like this
[rain,sleet,shine,snow]
and will google adwords automatically pick the best word for the search phrase or is that just wishful thinking
I am so sick of my line of work now I want to do something anything else. Lots of people make money doing this every day. Online marketing is not anything that is new to me. So those are my few questions that I have. Thank you so much for taking the time to read and reply to it. I look forward to getting help from people here, and then returning the favor after I have become savy in the PPC world.

Thanks again

you will get may answers here, some people use one key per ad group and others use multiple keys per ad group, both camps will probably argue their way is best for many reasons, a path only taken by the toughest would probably dance on a number, so your best call is to do what works for you.

My answer is as many as i need for that ad group, no more no less, in that i do not design ad groups / keys based on a number, but base it on what keys work for that ad group, the resulting number is what it is.

    .

sounds like your stressing to hard in the early days, if your doing that, then low stress it your doing fine and you will get it better as you move along, maybe focus on some of the other areas now such as your ctr and as a result your q score may continue to improve.

Does anyone know of any free keyword list software that will sort keyword lists by relevancy to one another, or does something like that only come at a very high price?
i am sure the G key is free and sorts by relevancy ? you really do not need any other tool unless you see a real need for it.

I spent more time on my negative keyword list then I did on my bid keyword list. I feel that this is something that a great deal of people who are new overlook. They might be thinking I want all the traffic. But I know that I want as much traffic as possible I just only want it as specific as possible.
? are you saying there is a secret here or that is this correct ?, again each will tweak their campaigns different, I suppose like the answer to number of keys in an ad group, you really would spend no more or less time there than is required.

Is there a purpose to adding in typo keywords to your existing ads group keyword list. Or is that something that has been phased out with the advancement of googles adwords and search programs over the years.
is there a purpose to adding any key to your list ? probably follow that same thinking regardless.

Now I have set out a budget and everything like that along side with a plan. My plan is I do not want to bid on the really expensive keywords, and focus on a great deal of the less popular keywords. Now that I have done this I am not consuming my daily budget. breaking that down
My plan is I do not want to bid on the really expensive keywords
that is such wrong thinking that i hear many people say, the max cpc of a keyword does not indicate expensive, period, full stop, ditto / end

this thinking will more than likely cost you money not make you money, a expensive keyword is one where you can not make a profit on regardless of cost, be very clear with that.

and focus on a great deal of the less popular keywords. Now that I have done this I am not consuming my daily budget
number 2 big mistake thinking, cheap keywords are that for a reason, there are many numbers you need to juggle in the adwords game of every player wins a prize, conversion ratio being one, a low cost max cpc may have a very low conversion rate to a point it is not profitable, that makes it an expensive key, regardless of max cpc, you save nothing and spend a crap load on keys that will never make you a profit.

each key is its own micro campaign but never cal a key expensive or cheap based on a max cpc.

the next part now not spending your daily budget ? I am not sure what the thinking is there but you want to spend your daily budget, you ant to max out the scale of a key, you want to slam that puppy home, spending out is a good thing, when people are conserving or holding back it means your not tuned into the keys your running.

plan to spend and slam that daily budget as you move forward.

So the question at hand is how to get more traffic using the google adwords ppc program but how do I do it without breaking the bank, and tanking a huge risk in something I really do not know a great deal about

it would be hard to answer that question in a few words but look to remove any under performing keys, this will release budget to other keys,

look to adjust price to gain preferred position this may reduce / or increase funds needed.

look to remove any keys as negatives that are costing you money.

you should never break the bank, and you should only ever invest what you are prepared to loose, especially at the start, you do not need mountains of money but you do need consistency in your funds and patience while you learn.

during this stage learn how and why not speed that can come later when you start to reinvest some profits.

I am apprehensive of bidding on the most commonly used keywords for a couple of reasons. A great deal of these keywords are very very broad. And I am afraid that they will not convert as good as a more specific keyword will get. But then again I don't know for sure because I am so new to this.
there is another kettle of worms, only bid on exact, phrase broad ? ring a ring a rosy what do i do, the answer will be for you to do some small test to see what works for you and adopt that, i would not even dare tread the you must do this waters on this topic, I feel there is no wrong or right, others will swear do this or the sky will fall.

I suppose just ask this, does this key regardless of match type make me money. ?

So what do you think would be my best coarse or action here?
Should I raise my bids on keywords.
no one has a clue what you should do with out seeing your keys, ask is you current position where you want it to be ? if not adjust

ask are you paying to much for this key to make a profit as it stands ?

and many other questions here for you to ask.

Should I add more keywords to my existing campaigns
will they make you money ? i suppose until you test, you do not know, time and experience will come into play here as you move forward.

Should I consider bidding on more expensive keywords.
yes, if you mean b expensive a higher max cpc, which is not expensive if it returns a better / profit, again its just testing things out.

The amount of traffic has been very very minimal and so is my daily budget.

The product I have selected to sell is not a super competitive product like weight loss pills or nothing like that. My advertising budget is a very very small 50.00 a day. more than enough to get started with

is it used something like this

? you lost me at the roundabout ?
