Am I just paranoid/impatient or does Google not like me?

Hello World. I am at some sort of dilemma here. I have recently made two sites and got them indexed. Upon first index one of them is way back on page 19 and the other one isn't even showing up. The first page competition for both doesn't even look fierce (in fact it looks easily beatable), yet I'm way back in Google's index.

This has actually happened with two other Amazon sites I had. I did not build backlinks fast (I didn't do any other than social bookmarking), yet they are nowhere to be found in Google's index either.

I'm beginning to think Google doesn't even like me anymore. They may have blacklisted me or something. Or am I just being paranoid and/or impatient?

I will tell you this - IM is worthless if you can't get ranked on the first page of Google.
#google #paranoid or impatient

Maybe the way your site was constructed? If you just made an Amazon Store, Google just regards it as a thin duplicate site. The only exceptions to this rule are old Amazon stores made like, 5 years ago...

You need to pack a lot more "good user experience" to it, IMHO. New eBay stores, Amazon stores, and any kind of store that is new gets this kind of blanket treatment from Google.

I think you just need to wait mate. I was trying to rank for a keyword for a very long time, best position was page 33 and then one day I was top of page two, now im #5 on 1st page so it just shows you.

It took about 7 months though.

haha...yeah your probably just being paraniod....Google is a slow moving beast...even if you toss up a bunch of back links it takes Google a week (or more) just to index them for your site.

Keep tossing up high pr, do follow, relevant backlinks to the site and your site will float to the top in a bit....it can take a few months sometimes to get to the top of Google even for an easy keyword if your SEO efforts are minimal....or massive

The one BIG mistake that new comers to IM make is thinking that if they build it they will come....and that it everything moves quickly....when you're working with Google just remember that it takes Google a long time to even give a hiccup of digestion of new links....that's why I have a slew of sites going up and moving around.

I will do some SEO efforts daily for each site but not focus so much on my rankings at first....your site will dance around the rankings for a bit....your links will appear to be like shooting blanks in a gun as far as your SEO is concerned until Google works them into their magic algo.

The best you can do is to understand what type of SEO needs to be done....determine how much you want to do each day and stick with it until your #1 in Google.....working more than a few sites launched at different times will help take your mind off the waiting....so I say go out and make a few more sites.....wait a few weeks an do the same....and before you know it you will see that the first site will be #1 and the rest are not too far off....(amount of time to get to #1 of course will depend on of things, but you know this)

    No!

    Google has changed something!

I have A LOT of websites, and I always manage to get indexed within a couple of days, which I still manage to do! But.. I have ALWAYS managed to rank high for my keywords, because they are VERY long tail keywords, and I almost instantly reach page 1 or 2.. MAX 3 if it's really bad - but that's very very rare! Most of the times it's "exact keywords domains" that I rank high for instantly.

But the last 5 sites I have launched landed up on page 8, 12, 12, 21 and 32 !! This is crazy! Normally these sites would be at top 30 AT LEAST! I'm trying to rank for keywords with 100.000 competitors where the top 10 is not even mentioning the keyword - and have no backlinks at all!

Sometimes has changed for sure! No doubt about it! I have hundreds of sites, and it's the first time this happened, and these are easy keywords! Normally I could rank at top 5 for these keywords without doing ANYTHING but bookmarking!

I think I read somewhere back that Google is updating again....I am probably wrong....I know though that Google is veering more toward relevancey in links vs sheer mass volume of links due to all the automated software that can spam the links to forums, blogs, etc.

I've seen sites will 1000's of junkie profile links and blogging comment backlinks from non-relevant sites ranking 4th or 5th to a site with only about 100 highly relevant links where as the other SEO factors matched up the same.

I am sensing they might of launched a new algo update? We won't know for sure until the number crunchers start reporting it around the forums that they have done so.

Secret Tip: -If you stick with relevant backlinks then you will go much further with less effort in the rankings for your sites. Just my personal opinion going forward. I predict that blogging & forum platforms will be under the scope much closer this year.

I think so too. Starting this year in fact, about the time of the mass deployment of Caffeine. For me, my sites all held and improved their rank in fact. But then, I've never done anything except pure whitehat SEO and simply improving my sites, slowly and surely.

Lately I have myself seen a lot of thin sites where the owner registered a keyword match domain totally disappear, even though they were ranking well previously.....In the last few weeks.

Doing SEO is worthless if you can't get decent rank, but IM is not about ranking. It's about getting people to your products in a targeted way that converts to sales and follow up sales.

Anyways, there's other ways to make money online. Getting your site to the #1 position is not the only way.

    Best wishes,
    Eric

Yeah, but 90% of the ways to make money online require your site to hit the first page of Google. The other 10%, well, they either don't work or they do work but stop working after a short time.

It is much easier to supplement targeted traffic than it was this time two years ago.

It sounds like you need a few high PR links to help boost authority of your domain. That would be one of the main reasons I can think of that you wouldn't rank for a long-tail keyword.. get links from old-trusted sites that actually pass some link equity, until then Google will not trust your site enough to make in more visible in the SERPs.

Good I sure hope that Google can find a way to devalue forum and blog spam. Especially forum spam which is harder to prevent. I'm so sick of dealing with it on my board

Actually...a few high PR pages have not been helpful at all in my experience. I would go for just relevant links, regardless.
