Anyone try to hide their backlinks?

What would most webmasters do without Yahoo Siteexplorer for spying on the competition? I know there are plenty of tools out there that scrape more than Yahoo Siteexplorer, but most people don't use them. And Yahoo only shows 1,000 links.

Do any of you make a point of trying to hide your link strategy from competitors by getting tons of links just to hide what you are doing?

I don't bother, the way I look at it is that most competitors are going to be too lazy to build links the way I do, and even if they aren't lazy, I assume they're just going to do it the wrong way and will end up getting their site banned.

Definitely not. If our competitors want to look at our backlinks, that's fine with us. I think with the internet the way it is, competition is often global, and it would be impossible to literally compete with each individual company.

No, because it's nearly impossible to just go out and get the same backlinks as your competitors do anyway. Every site is different.
