Finding Authority sites

Hi, I am new to the net and would like to know how i can find authority sites, which i can use for backlinks. Any tips?

    Yes, competitor links is a good place to start. Scan through competitor links and sort by PR. Otherwise, if you don't own any SEO software, you can manually scan the SERPs (search engine results page's) for high PR sites which are related to your content.

    Depending on you service/industry, there are many different strategies you can use. It's tough to give specific advice without knowing your URL or industry.

    In what niche you are in? Search in Google blogs, forums, websites that are related to your niche and which are in the top rankings are the more authority sites.

    We use Opensite to find the most authoritative back links that our competitors are using.

    Also Web CEO has a good link checking tool for this.
