can i add the information of other sites to my web blog?

for example, if some VIP gets married then,

can i add that news collected from BBC (whole article, with picture) and put in my site?

or should i need to put the courtesy link back to the site which i took?

is that copyrighted?

is that illegal to use in that way?

Any time you are swiping someone else's content, you need to link back to them in your post or else it is plagiarism.

It is fine to take content from other sites so long as you provide a backlink. This is how sites like ezinearticles.com are built. People publish your article and in exchange, you get better SEO and more traffic. It's nothing unusual.

Do not try to copy it though, you may get in trouble if you make it a habit. Plus, it doesn't serve your SEO very well as you will likely have a lower PR than the source that made it, which means their version of the article will rank above yours!

    Hope that helps.

      OH! And I almost forgot.

If you need more content, check this out:

They have an amazing network of bloggers that need articles for their sites, and article marketers that need backlinks for theirs.

It's a great place to exchange content for backlinks made by the one and only Brad Callen. I've gotten quite a few from here myself and have improved my rankings since.

NO - and the answer above is unclear. Adding a link doesn't keep you from violating copyright if you have no rights granted to publish the news article.

You can't just take content you like and post it whether you add a link or not.

You can re-publish from directories that allow it - as long as you keep the author info and links with the article.

Actually yeah, I missed that. Some directories and sites allow it, others don't. I don't know what sites like BBC have to say.

Either way, like I said, I wouldn't make a habit of it until you know the rules with the directory or website you are publishing from.

What you can do instead is alter the content enough that it becomes your own. If some celebrity is getting married, then you can use another article as a guide but rewrite it to make it original. Maybe you can add some new perspective or thought to the article and make it unique in that way as well. Either way, add something useful to the content which your readership will enjoy.
