I'm just curious,

Say I own 10 websites (all under the same name, IP, hosting). Would it be beneficial or harmful to them to all link to each other?

It wont count as much since the ip address is the same. You don't lose anything in my experience.

In general, it's best if your site doesn't link to thers, that way it's passing link juice (and losing link juice).

There are pros and cons. If want to you should check out Chris Beasley's Hub & Spoke article - Hub & Spoke: How to Cross-Link Your Websites - Website Publisher.

No sweat. For SEO Chris is as good as it gets. He's not flashy or trendy but he's super smart and his content is the good stuff w/o the fluff (and it's free)

Logic would say that it depends on the registration info for the domain and sites relevancy. For instance, if the sites were all registered to the same owner, I would devalue the link equity.. if they were all different business-type address/owners on the Whois info I would give it full link equity. You would think Google could discern this too (unless it is private).. has anyone ever seen this first hand or tested?
