How many backlinks does your site have?

You can check the number of back links for your site at:

1. Backlinks Checker Tool - Backlink Watch
2. Site Explorer - Yahoo! Site Explorer

For me, backlinkwatch.com is saying "Out of Yahoo quota for today. Total 50,000 queries executed already." so I'll tell you my stats for my website learnthatlanguagenow.com that Yahoo reports.

Yahoo says for my site (learnthatlanguagenow.com) I have 3,431 inlinks and I set it to show inlinks for "except from this domain" and to "entire site".

What about your site? How many backlinks (inlinks) do you have?

My main site has only 1,380 links according to Yahoo, but Google Webmaster Tools says it has over 18,000 links.

  Wow! Big difference. I knew Yahoo was off, but I haven't tried Google Webmaster tools, is it just more accurate or something?

For my largest site, only about 300. Thanks for the backlink tool, I was using a different one but it's no longer working.

  For starters, if there are two links to the same domain on the same page, Google only looks at the first link text. With this, the second link in your current signature is not helping you. You should use the second link to link to another page on your website, or another one of your websites.

  Don worry it happens, if your bookmarked links started to disappear initially it will appear as multiple backlinks

well to be honest I don't know what type of links they offer, but PROFILE LINKS DO WORK. I'm working really hard to beat a site ruling the serps which has 500 profile links with pr0 each... so... I wouldnt say they don't work.

There are a lot of factors than just backlinks.

- The authority of those backlinks -- are they from high PR sites or from .edu/.gov domans?

- The diversity of the type of backlinks - authoritative site, forums, profiles, blogs, articles,etc.

- The rate in which those backlinks are build

- The variations of the keywords for the backlinks.

Whether you have 10, 20, 50, 100....it's all about quality, not just quantity.

It's funny, I've seen page rank 2 sites that have 30 or so backlinks according to backlink watch, yet my PR-1 site has hundreds. Keep in mind, the quality of your backlinks matters more than anything. Hundreds of forum posts can't replace links from highly ranked sites.

Google webmaster tools also shows almost accurate backlink count and i have seen backlinks counted the day before being counted there, almost instantly. But there is no option for sorting the backlinks as in case of yahoo which is quite handy.
