Using WP MU blogs to create Backlinks and also Generate Traffic

I've been trying to figure this out for the past couple of Days now but no one seems to know yet so I'll give it a separate Thread on its own that will hopefully help generations to come.

So here goes

I was watching the affiliate code by M.Jones recently and he had this very cool way of generating backlinks aswell as traffic by using powered by wordpress mu blogs with anchor text back to his main blog.

Now M. Jones says you should only use it for a blogger blog (or a blog platform generally) e.g. ending in I Hear You.. and not a brand new domain ending .com

But as we all know the strength is in the ''.com'' not so much the ''blogspot.com'' and fortunately with blogger you can easily custom domain you blogspot.com to a simple .com for about $10

So this is my question say I have a site called teez.blogspot.com

and then I can later custom domain it to teez.com via blogger.

Am I going to upset google in thinking that since its technically a blogger I can use the word press mu method to build some backlinks to teez.com if I have already customed domain it to teez.com from day one?

or should I use the method 1st to build backlinks whilst it is still teez.blogspot.com (fully fledged blogger status) and when its ranked then I can custom domain it to teez.com
