Ad placement on first page and SEO

As per advice from various people, the best place to have a block of Adsense ads in terms of click-thrus is right above the content...not to the top right or top left with the text wrapped around the block, but above, with all the text starting below the block.

Right?

But doesn't this block of ads interfere with spiders crawling the site? Or are they mainly after the URL and the Title?

Adsense is javascript, completely ignored by spiders.
Okay, sometimes google may try and run a javascript for
anything content related, but not adsense type javascript.
Spiders are looking for content and are only blocked by what
you want the bots to not crawl. Crawling adsense code for
any purpose would be a non issue.
