Google Shopping Results

Hi

I wondered if anyone knows how Google decided where to rank its "Shopping Results".

E.g. sometimes I search for a product and the shopping results are listed in the #1 spot. Sometimes it is further down.

If shopping results are #1 is it possible to get to #1 with a regular web page?

Anyone have direct experience of this?

    I think you can submit your shop to Google. I could not do it because it's US only.

    Personally, I've had a hard time beating out shopping results. I also don't like it when there's a local result highly ranked.

    You could do a competitive analysis on the pages on the shopping results to get an idea of their strength...

      Check this website dknyhandbags.org.

      Its xfactor style site. Sold at flippa for $1500. And it has a #1 spot for its main keyword. Its even above the official dkny website.

      I also have a website which is based on a poplar brand and I managed to outrank google shopping listing. You can make a logical conclusion from this.
