I have a limited budget and am trying to get the most I can for my SEO efforts. I would like the opinion of those who have had experience and/or knowledge with paid for web directories.

1. Have you had any success, with SEO, by paying for inclusion on high PR directories.

2. If so, what directories would you reccomend?

My website is right on the cusp of a gettign good rankings; so, I need a little push.

    I personally don't believe in paid directories. I think most of them are scam.
    I used to submit my sites to as many free directories as possible and to buy links on mid level sites with relevant and quality content.

    I think you can better use the cash you have to linkbuilding companies. They know what to do and if you are good at finding some, they can be very cheap tho.

    Otherwhies try make profile backlinks, I heared they worked well lately. If not spammed to hell ofcourse.

    You can hire someone to submit to free directories or do it yourself. There is also a nice list over at vilesilencer and web-directories.ws.

      When it comes to directory submission I would only suggest two directories one is dmoz and the other one is yahoo directory. U can get free listing in dmoz but u will have to pay for yahoo directory. Although its not so easy to get listed on these two directories but they are definately worth trying. Once listed in these directories you will surely see an improvment in your ranking as well as traffic.

    Utilize resources on Link building , and quality link building. And try to submit your site to free web directories write articles and submit them to articles directories, they are better in my opinion to that of paid links.

    I agree with a lot of what was said here. In my opinion I think your best bet is investing in a directory submission software. Why paid for a directory submission when you can utilize the hundreds of free article directories that already exist.

      Because there are lots of free link directories, just as there are lots of free article directories.

    id be tempted to go for high volume links as opposed to high juice links in the first instance, these will get you to page 2 pretty quickly for competative terms, then use juicy links to push you up to page 1.
