Hi guys

First of I request you not to write the definition or difference or advantages of nofollow/dofollow. As I knew it very well so please reply only if you know the answer of my question.

I have made few nofollow links for my site and when I checked backlinks for the site I got more than 40 nofollow backlinks. But As per the definition Google doesn't follow nofollow links. So my question is is that nofollow backlinks are useless?? Or wil it help me to increase my SERP???

Not to be rude, but please use the search feature... Or just look a few pages back. This issue has been beaten and discussed to death. There are many threads that go deep into this issue.

' no follow' links do not pass any link juice, In other words, they won't be followed/ counted by Google and they don't help you increase your SERP. But You cannot say, they are useless. If all your links are 'do follow', Your link building process won't look natural to Google. So 'no follow' links serve that purpose. you can maintain a good balance by having both 'no follow' and 'do follow' links, so that your link building process look natural.

secondly, 'no follow' links from quality sites can drive good amount of traffic to your site provided you participate or contribute some thing useful on those sites or build a reputation by sharing your knowledge and expertise.

for ex: if you post a useful and interesting comment on a high quality blog, chances are there, a few people might click on your link to know about you.

Its either nofollow or dofollow links, it's still a links that serve a purpose. You really can't say that nofollow links are useless.

nofollow links are useful if you do not want to give your website PR credit to other website domain.. Crawlers will visit those links..

It is important to have a "no follows" pointing toward your site, if you just have "follow" that would be unnatural and your site may spend some time in the "sand box" or worse
