allinanchor no longer accurate? [seo]

i recently noticed that using allinanchor to search for competition is no longer accurate.

Did you notice the same thing?

And how do you gauge the competition now?

    Allinanchor has been crap for a while now. Google doesn't want you to know your competition.

    This tool is a must though:
    Open Site Explorer: Link Popularity & Backlink Analysis Tool

    And it shows the anchor text among other things.

      I use intitle:"keyword phrase" for a rough assessment.

      You are very welcome, but that's what the Thanks button underneath the post is for. OSE will definitely tell you a few things about competition.
