Google Traffic has Dropped

My website Fat Loss Done Ez was doing well with traffic and for a week now Goggle hasn't been sending me traffic as much. Actually theres a 50%+ decline in traffic. Now its ranking #32 for the term fat loss and that hasn't changed at all.

So I went to google and searched for a few articles, popular articles on my site and my website Fat Loss Done Ez shows up in the searches instead of the post related to the keywords.

Any ideas?

i think you have to use more keyword related to your website. article and bookmarking, blog posting is best way to increase traffic for both referral and search engine.

Ive analyzed, Ive optimized and nothing.

All my pages are indexed, but when you search those pages are not popping up. The website title is. Meaning that Google is linking to my homepage and not the posts for the keywords being searched.

Ive had this domain for almost a year. Its PR3. Ive build strong links. The only problem I can see is the cache of my posts are not updated. But as I said before my pages/posts are indexed but not showing up in the search terms, just the homepage.

#32 isn't that low, for sandbox. i think it's just that he's dealing with such a competitive niche.

    What is Sandbox?

    I have over 1000 backlinks to my site...with a PR3.

The site is indexed, the pages are indexed. For example, I wrote a review on Mommy Without Pounds. A search under "Mommy Without Pounds review" shows my site at #4 in Google. But if you take a look at the link it will say Fat Loss Done EZ. Click on the link and it will take you to the homepage, but not the post.

So why is Google linking to my homepage and not the post? Even though the post is indexed in Google and has since May of this year.

The drop in the traffic during the past week may be due to the fact that google has checked the nature of the back links that your site might have acquired in the last one week.

The post doesn't have many backlinks, and is unable to compete with the homepage where the keyword appears too. I think adding internal backlinks to the post would help a lot. Notice how your article "The Benefits of Cinnamon and Weight Loss" shows up in google search results? I think it's benefiting from being included in your list of popular posts; that gives it an internal backlink from every page of your site.

On your homepage, Mommy without Pounds is included in anchor text to a squidoo lens. That also helps your homepage rank for the keyword.

I also see that your post permalinks have the date in the middle. If you switch to a custom structure that has categories, you can fit more keywords into your URLs. Like, put all your post-pregnancy posts in a Mommy-without-Pounds category, or something.

I just checked your site with Google.

It's a double listing in the SERPs.

Click the little plus sign below the Index page Title in the Google SERPs.

Your post "Mommy Without Pounds review" is listed in position #3, down from the Index page.

      What's the problem with that?

Looks like a good thing to me... Isn't that your site?

lol, i wanna have rankings like that!

Yeah, but real people don't search with keywords in quotes. I think the problem is that if you do the same search without quotes, the homepage comes up without any indented links below it. The desired post doesn't appear at all.

It never hurts to keep building steady links to all your pages as you create them, and also keep a list of the URLs you create when you post so you can build links without having to go to your sites to find them,

It happens a lot, but then Google returns them to previous positions. It is normal activity within search engine.

This is just a thought but could the drop in traffic also be the fact that people are on vacation.

That's an interesting thought because when it happen people were preparing for back to school and technically they still are. So, maybe.

I mean everything is still good ranking wise, but its how it appears in Google. Because if you are looking for something in particular and click to the homepage and don't find it then you're out. So that is where my concern is.

I use to have a weight loss site about 3 years back and found that it had 2 peak periods straight after christmas as people want to shed the turkey and drinks and also about 4-6 weeks prior to vacation as they want to look good on the beach i would say its not a all year round niche, well that what i found anyway. So the theory of the traffic drop would seem to fit the trend. But i could be wrong
