Hi warriors,

Need you advices. I'm currently testing out the adsense on wordpress site that I have just setup on my testing site.

On Homepage, it shows irrelevant ads, whereas on the post page, I can see the ads displayed is relevant.

Can someone hep to explain this if you know how to get around.

Thanks a million...

Never turn on Adsense until after you have the correct content on the page. Once a page is scanned by the Adsense bot it might not be looked at again for two weeks to see if the content has changed.

      Hi ycsim4016,

AdSense needs tightly focused topics to serve up relevant ads. It sounds as though your post pages are better optimized than your home page. You may need to setup section targeting to ensure relevant ads for your homepage.

Thanks for everyone's advises. I think my main issue is putting up the adsense too soon before my main content is up. KirkMcd was right, I put up my adsense code when I was posting some test content on my wordpress. Subsequently I post an actual content & the adsense show relevant ads in my post page. Perhaps I need to wait for 2 weeks to get the relevant ads on my homepage.

Thanks everyone for your valuable advises. Learned a lot from you guys. Thank you.

You could try to use the Google Wonder Wheel to look for the LSI keywords then write your next posts centered on these keywords. I believe once you have more content and Google knows your theme, you will start to receive relevant ads. Patience too.

You probably have too much different topics on your blog, so for the post page it shows relevant content, while on the home page these topic clash with one another and that gets your adsense all mixed up.

But that is not necessarily so, Google knows very well how to make mistakes, so this will happen from time to time!

This is a common issue with the main page on Wordpress.

Eventually AdSense bots will revisit and start showing relevant ads. To see what will eventually show up, append ?=1 to the end of your URL. You should see relevant ads and these are what you will see once the page is revisited.

That has happen to me a number of times, you just need to continue to add content to your page, sooner or later the bot will finally know what your page is about and change ads accordingly.

Also pay close attention to what is popping up in your comments (i.e. don't approve all comments as they can trigger some crap ads)

Along with the target adsense code you can also disapprove ads from certain URLs in the adsense dashboard

Get used to it. With information pages, I have tried rewriting the page, targeting sections, and using very focused anchor text on backlinks. Nothing has worked for me, so I have just quit trying. Now I try to send traffic to my pages that have relevant AdSense ads and ignore the others. It seems to me that G is just hurting itself and us by not giving us some way to suggest categories of ads.
