How do I exclude Africa from my Adwords targeting ?

I'm managing the Adwords account for a company that sells to the French-speaking market.
We have far too many clicks coming from countries that DO speak french but DO NOT have Paypal accounts and/or Credit cards and/or money for that matter.

Clicks and prospects from Algeria, Congo or Morocco never made us a dime, and are a sheer loss of time and money.

How do I keep them away from seeing my ads ?

My current targeting says :

Language : French
and Locations :
• Belgium (Country)
• Canada (Country)
• France (Country)
• Guadeloupe (Country)
• Italy (Country)
• Luxembourg (Country)
• Martinique (Country)
• Monaco (Country)
• Switzerland (Country)
and still I get more than 10 to 20% clicks from Africa...
How do i get rid of these ?

Put a title on the top of your page saying

"IF YOU ARE FROM AFRICA, THEN PLEASE LEAVE THIS SITE CLICKING THE EXIT BUTTON"

I believe you problem is that some of the places you are targeting (ie Martinique) have a portion of the population that speaks African languages. My guess is that your targeting of this place is creating the traffic you speak of.

    Try this:

Remove this location from your campaign and see if you get the results your are looking for. My bet is this will clear up a lot of your troubles.

      Try This
      Log into Adwords

      Click on your Campaign

      Click on Edit Campaign Settings

Go to Bottom of page and click on Locations: edit

When the popup window opens click browse

Scroll to the bottom of the list and click on show all countries

Now put a check next to each country you want to target and remove

checks next to any country you do not want to target

      Click done

      Click Save Changes

Thanks for the advice, however if you look at my targeted countries list, there's absolutely no country from Africa.
I'm not targeting them and still they do click my ads.

Blasted GeoTargeting... call G and tell them to refund you.

When I am running campaigns in the US... I am sure to painstakingly select every state because Adwords GeoTargeting isn't perfect.

    I would call them.
