Can anyone just explain how a auto blog gets any traffic in any niche without backlinks ?

hi,
There seems to be a lot of folks going into atuo blogs with the each blog makes a dollar a day and if you set up 100 then its $100 a day coming your way mind set.

But i really cannot understand how these blogs actually get found by anyone if there is no backlinking ?? How do these blogs with just one original article (the homepage) the other content being scraped actually get ranked and founded by anyone at all ?

The only thing i can think of is if you choose a niche/product where the competition is so low that good on page seo will actually rank you on the first page then over time the scraped content will once in a whlile get you a long LONG tail visitor ??

I am really asking because my brother has had a serious back operation and is out of work for a few months is is VERY short of cash, he has seen me sat infront of my PC for the last 18 months and now i have income from Adsense and CJ covering my mortage and house hold bills he wants to try.

I cannot really send him down the adsense path because if i was to start again i dont think i would go that way and he need something quick so after ranking my brains i thought about auto blogs.

He could set them up quick use my hosting, and see just alittle profit i really want to help him get started with something that will show just a little profit to pump him up.

But i really need to understand the auto blog system myself before i can really help him and get him started.

So if anyone here can give my alittle advice please.

I am not using auto blogs myself, but I know there are wordpress plugins that will automatically send a sniplet of each post to a set of web 2.0 sites. These sniplets will include a backlink to the original post.

Most of these will probably soon be deleted from the different web 2.0 places, but you will still have a few left that will bring inn backlinks.

You also have RSS that can bring in a few backlinks.

In adition you can get more unique articles by using one of the article distribution services that uses a spinner before the autor submit it. There are several of these.

Not a big fan, but I am sure you can use automatic blogs to make money. For a short period at least.

So is the whole idea to choose a Long long tail keyword for my site that has so low competition that it will rank on the first page without any backlinks ? Or just choose a low competition keyword with fair searches per month and hope that i get some visitors from the scraped content hitting some LONG long tail keyword searches ?

You will also get some traffic from people checking their own or their competitors backlinks through Yahoo and other tools.

If you have enough blogposts linking to other blogs, this number will start to build up. I do not know how lucerative these visitors are, but traffic is still traffic.

Why do you think they don't need backlinks?

Is there some course or something that teaches that because I find it pretty hard to believe that you will make any money without backlinks.

Of course, I could be wrong - it' been several years since I even thought of putting up a website and not getting backlinks to it since i have found it to be a total waste of time in the past.

I don't know why you think people build them without links..... Whenever I've created them I ALWAYS set them up to auto-social bookmark and tweet, so they always have tons of links constantly building to them.

Also - Wp Syndicator is great for that too.

I build a bunch of links to them manually - some articles, blog comments other links from various places before i just let it ride on autopilot.

Hey no Andy and Lee you`ve just given me some GREAT information i never thought of setting the blogs to auto backlink, Andy what do you use to auto social bookmark your posts with ? Is this a plugin that will bookmark even a auto blog post ?

I do have wp-robot can this plugin be used to auto bookmark or do any other kind of auto backlinking ?

And Lee i actually bought wp-Syndicator just for $10 when it first came out but have never used it can this also be set to auto post eack time my blog posts ??

I use wp o matic, and another plugin i forgot the name, that automatically adds keywords specific to the content, and i average about 100 unique visitors everyday.

100 uniques a day !!! Thats fantastic do you think you can find the name of the other plugin for me as 100 uniques a day is really pretty dam good

Hey man, So i went to go check and the plugin is called "simple tags". When i started i gathered as many keywords as possible. So to get here, i clicked on tags in my WP blog. The you will see some added entries from simple tags, called manage my terms, mass edit terms, and auto terms. So after i got all my keywords i put them into the add section in "manage my terms". now all my terms are in the system, and i went to auto terms, and clicked this to add tags to all my previous posts. Now everytime a keyword it adds my keywords as tags automatically. I also love the mass edit terms. I can see all my previous posts, and if i can think to adding another keywords i can do it here. It shows something like the past 10 posts or something and i can edit and add keywords in the masses.

I pull feeds from about 6 different websites, and get about 30 or a little less posts each day. Then simple tags tagg them for me. I added adsense in my autoblogging excerpts and collect revenue this way. Cheers!

Yep - you just setup the accounts once and then set it to automatically post to them when it makes a post. Instant backlinks to every post!

Without building any backlinks, your best bet is with keyword domain name. I've had a lot of domains and I've ranked the sites in the 1st page with decent amount of competitions doing nothing.

  If you want an excellent resource of plugins and autoblogging in general, have him go buy Auto Blog System X by Rob Benwell. It's excellent.
  
  I already had a bunch of autoblogs and I've now added more plugins to help with backlinks and traffic from that resource.
  
  Essentially, if you use a huge list of "buyer long-tail keywords" and then set your autoblogs up with WP Robot, you can pull a lot of traffic just from the long-tails. Many of them will then click on eBay or other related links.
  
  But remember, even autoblogging takes time. Not only to set up the sites but they need to age before you will see much traffic. And some will flop completely.
  
  Also, there is the expense of the hosting and some of the plugins. So, it's certainly not going to give him a huge quick overnight income. Nothing really does though.

I am yet to meet anyone that is making good money auto-blogging, I know it sounds appealing but really?? I would focus on tactical PPC or SEO on sites you invest in for the longterm

Hi Jim

The big problem with auto blogging has already been highlighted, it takes to time to get right and to be completely honest nothing of value is being put back into the web community.

It may be worth your brother choosing the route of building a sustainable long term presence and in the long run make more regular income doing it the right way.

I make good money autoblogging.

It's long term for me and is doing great.

You do have to do a little maintenance every month to get the most from AB's so about 100 is all one person can handle without a support staff.

But, it is profitable if you find the right person to teach you.

I am a bit of tool geek, myself.

I love automation and if used wisely, can be a huge asset for you.

The tools I use are:

SE Nuke
Magic Submitter
Xrumer
Sick Submitter
Wordpress Magic (my own autoblogging tool I use to create niche sites for back links)
Scrapebox.

With that being said, I do not just back link the entire site.

I look in the stats for which posts are performing the best then concentrate on those and more posts relevant to those and back link them.

It's nothing to do a thousand back links for a post that is doing well.

In fact, one of my students is becoming a believer.

She posted this earlier yesterday:

One Site...Nearly $100 in Adsense in August

I'm really pleased that my Adsense revenue has been consistently climbing every month, with one site in particular standing out as a winner.

In May, this site alone did $26.45 in Adsense
In June...$22.49
In July...$82.59
In August...$97.56

The reason why it jumped so much in July? Checking the Awstats and adding posts related to the winning pages.
I didn't even write any unique articles; I just added them with WPM.

So if you're on the fence whether or not adding posts related to the most viewed pages in Awstats really works, I'd say this is proof it does.

Of course, I started really back linking this site at the same time.
