Hello

Can anyone tell me if the other pages of a site influence the ranking of the Homepage, or the Homepage is only judge by the content it has?

So, if i rank in nr 1 for the keyword Mad Dog, with my site named mad-dog.com, it´s only because of the content of the Homepage, and not the entire site itself?

Contents and links in inner pages of your site will surely effect the rank of your home page.
If you get more links to pages in your site related to homepage that will boost you Rank in SERPs and also increase your PR.

      Google ranks PAGES... not SITES.

Links help. But having that as your URL is a big boost.

So, for exemple, to rank cheeseburguer dot com for the keywords cheeseburguer, in terms of content, only what is displayed on the homepage counts?

On-page SEO is a small amount of the equation. Off-page SEO counts for much more.

There are a TON of factors that go into SEO. Just putting cheeseburger in your domain isn't the best way. But in a nutshell, google reads the content on your site, evaluates the backlinks to it, etc etc, then decide where you should appear when the query is typed in.

Also if you put cheeseburger on all of your pages and try to rank them all for that word, you're essentially competing against yourself.

It is ALL about the users though.

Disagree with this on page is much more important. Google wants to know what your site is all about. Having 210000 links to your page that is just a picture of dog crap doesnt mean anything. Innerlinking your pages together makes a big difference.

1st it depends on your websites title thats what the bots read first and determines which category your website fits in there index.

Then they will spider and seek out the keywords or related keywords in the body content to further position your serps ranking because of relevancy quality.

you can rank so far with on-page seo for keywords even rank number 1 for most keywords just doing on-page but usually theres no competition or no one or near too thats searching for that keyword.

yes if you dnt use nofollow.

Just imagine that your other subpages or subcats are someone else's website and they link back to your home page... it gives you a backlink and with a backlink it gives you a share in PR. Its simular to your websites pages linking back to your home page.

Yes, but if i wanted to rank cheeseburguer-com to the keyword cheeseburguer, just with ranking in mind, place content relating to cheeseburguers in the other pages will be part of the equation for google to determine where i will appear in the SERPS?

It wont help your home page rank just with on-page seo and related content to your homepage cheese burgers.. you need backlinks to get PR and status from other respected sites running to your subpages and then those subpages will share there PR and status with your home page which will give you a boost in rankings.

It will get you more impression for your domain name because each related keyword pages will be index in there respected category in google but this doesnt mean that this will help your home page rank for its keyword - you need backlinks either way to your home page - subpages or both too beat your competition and rank high

Be careful, if your keyword density is to high on your pages, then Google will lower PR.

Also, make sure that all of your pages have links to every page in your site so you create an internal link farm.

Also what Google really looks at, is inbound links from other sites. You just can't go and get a bunch of similar or kind-of, non related stuff.

The links that come into your sites should be "Hit-The-Nail-On-The-Head-Relative).
And they should come from mid to high PR sites.

When the Google bots crawl your site and they look through your pages and they find some non-relative links; (either out bound or inbound) their programs de-value the site.

    Hopes this helps.
