What application do SEO specialist needs in terms on social networks (like facebook)?

Hello all
Im software developer that very much like all the stuff that related to SEO although im beginner in this field.
I wander what tool will be useful for SEO or marketing people that using social network data , for example
I have build facebook desktop API stack that could connect to facebook and get data . what data or ideas to use facebook data could be useful ?
by the way if i build any tool it will be open source free one...

      yes i will but for now i like to foucos on facebook , i developed
      desktoop API client and i like to use it to implement SEO/marketing tool but im not sure
      what can i do to help SEO and marketing with all that data i can extract from facebook with the graph api
