New Google patent: how to judge the value of a link

While it's true that Patent was granted on 8-24-10, the application was filed on June 30, 2004.

And since no new information can be added to a Patent once it is filed, that means Google has been in possession of the means to use the processes described in the Patent well before then.

In other words...nothing new here except a way for Google to collect from other search engines now that the Patent has been granted should they infringe upon it.

If you analyzed the article carefully, you would see that it was a brilliant marketing tactic [Scare Marketing] by the website businesspromoter.com.

They were so smooth with their delivery, sales pitch and backlinks that most people did exactly what you did and completely missed the fact that BP was not disseminating crucial SEO info; they were fishing for new SEO clients using a 2004 Google patent as the bait.

Go back and scan the links at the end of BP's article. They ALL point to BPs SEO Linkbuilding software which costs either $249.00 or $499.00 a pop for the Pro version.

So do yourself a favor and scratch the thought that Linkwheels may be a thing of the past...

Just so you know, Google.com and ALL of their properties are perpetually growing Linkwheels!

Moreover, the Internet is a inner connected linkwheel and the moment any web property IS NOT linked to other web properties, that site is going to sink faster than a lead marble in the Atlantic Ocean.

The Ronald Reagan Rule has saved me from all types of tricks, scams, traps and bait and switch tactics.

BP came on my radar as soon as they said...

Basically, the patent confirms the previous recommendations in our newsletter and in our SEO software IBP:
          Then they added...

If you haven't done it yet, download our SEO software tool IBP now and optimize the links to your website as well as the content of your pages. IBP's Top 10 Optimizer is based on Google's latest ranking algorithm and it tells you what is needed to get high rankings on Google with the current algorithm.
          Yeah right!

I'm not downloading your software but nice try! */sarcasm...

Actually, misleading bait and switch scare tactics like that really suck.

You can be guaranteed, people who don't know SEO bought that software out of fear marketing.

If Google filed the patent so early, it means that they are smart enough (in 2010) to detect any sort of variations you bring about to make the link wheel look "natural"
