To Made for Adsense Sites Sandboxed - Because of MFA or Backlinks?

I created two made for adsense sites that were recently sandboxed by Google. There are two reasons why this might have happened:

1) They were created as made-for-adsense sites using a template made popular by one of our warriors

2) I had backlinks built by someone who used a script to insert the backlinks quickly. I only had about 20 backlinks created per site, but they were submitted within a matter of a few days. No other backlinks have been added since.

The sites were made a few months ago. They are Diamond Watches for Men and Vintage Metal Signs.

I am currently building a website for a client and I am thinking about building backlinks for him, but I want to make sure that I don't sandbox his website by doing so. I am trying to analyze my above question to be able to determine whether I should build the backlinks through a script, manually, or at all.

What do you mean by sandboxed? Both the sites are still indexed.

Insufficient and low quality backlinks mean poor rankings. You will get an initial boost for new content but this is temporary and your site/pages will soon drop to their natural level shortly. This isn't a 'sandbox' but just the natural score that your pages have based on their link profile, internals, domain age and so forth.

I guess my reason for saying that they were sandboxed is that the diamond watches for men site was one page 1 of Google (ranks 4-7) for a while, so I got the backlinks to bump the ranking up to the top, but instead the ranking disappeared entirely. Vintage Metal signs was on page 3 of Google.

I suppose my terminology is a bit off. Maybe I should have said "de-indexed"?

      Hi NBaller,

This is the normal and typical result of QDF (Query Deserves Freshness). This should be expected for every new page you launch. It has nothing to do with a mysterious or imaginary "Sandbox". It doesn't mean you have been punished nor does it mean you have done anything wrong at all.

Research QDF Query Deserves Freshness and learn what to expect!

The diamond watches for men seems to be ranking well. It's number 4 so it's definitely not sandboxed.

I made site- it scored #15 and I stared backlinking. I made about 15-20 links in a week or two and then stopped doing it. Few months later site dropped to about #130, guess why...
