SERP and Search Volume Stats: 70000 Search Volume, Top 1, 70UV/day

I reached top 1 Google slot for a keyword with 70K search volume (Board Match - Local US Search - Google Keyword Tool). Global is 135K search volume. But only 50UV/day (for that keyword - google analytics data).

Another keyword has 300K search volume local - 1M global search volume. I have reached #5 and get 300UV/day for that keyword.

I wonder if the traffics is acceptable? I'm very unhappy with the first traffic stats.

Please share your experience...

    First of all, don't use broad match. Broad match just means the word appeared in a search query, so say your keyword is 'dogs', then broad match will show millions of searches, but in reality not many people will just search for 'dogs', they will search for 'training for dogs', 'best family dogs' etc.

    Use 'phrase' match for a better idea and then 'exact' match. Phrase means the keywords appear exactly like you put in, but not nessecarily alone. That means, if your phrase is 'dog training', then phrase match means people could have searched for 'inexpensive dog training' or 'dog training course'. If you use exact match, then you will get the results for people who only search for 'dog trainng' and nothing else.

    Broad match is worthless for SEO purposes, it's meant to be used with Adwords.

    ya broad match means nothing. I always use exact searches and I also test them in adwords to see how many searches a KW really gets.

    Thanks that helps much (I thought board match search volume is more valuable than phrase match search volume because I focus on long-tail keyword. Eg, board match for 'easy training dog methods' is more powerful that phrase match for 'easy training dog methods'), here is search volume for "phrase" match:
    Keyword 1: (position #1)
    - US: Not Enough Data, Global: 4400 -> 50 uv/day for that keyword (google analytics data)
    Keyword 2: (position #4 for phrase match, #5 for board match)
    - US: 201000, Global: 550000 -> 300 uv/day for that keyword (google analytics data)
    I WAS WRONG!!!! Those are very acceptable traffic!!!!! HOPE THIS HELP OTHERS!!!

    If you are looking for some good keyword tools, i highly recommend Market Sam..You have to at the very least, and if you are in SEO for the long haul..getting this WILL help you out greatly. I have heard of other keyword tools and i have not tried them so I can only tell you that I have been able to produce research for clients and they are totally blown away with what I send them bc it shows them competitors, location, numbers, traffic, etc,etc...
    But yes,,try some out and invest in a keyword research tool.
