In SEO terms, is better to promote your site's url with 'www' or without?
#www

Well the main thing is that you stay consistent. One of the biggest seo mistakes people make is varying their url thinking it doesn't matter, IT DOES!

Stick with only one and blast it out.

I agree, just chose one and always stick with that one. I go without, just cause it's easier. But yes the main thing is to stick with one way or the other.

And which ever one you choose, make sure you do a permanent 301 re-direct to the other.

      Trailing slash matters too.

If you want to grab a top ranking at search engines, you need to focus www or without www. Because this will produce different results.

Through the 'Redirect' menu command on your hosting platform cPanel, or if not there, by asking your ISP to set up same for you. Shouldn't need to pay for this, so move to HostGator or similar if you need to.

It doesn't matter, you just need to be sure to pick one and link only to the one you picked.

I will say it does not matter at all if you get most of your traffic from the search engines like Google, Yahoo or MSN. In that way, google sends you the direct traffic, then who cares about your domain name.

But, if not, say, if you want to promote your site in various ways, and of course, the easier and more memorable the domain name is, then it is easier it can be remembered. Just think of those big brand name, you know what i mean here.

    I did a 301 redirect from http://www.site.com/index.php / http://site.com/index.php
to http://site.com but it is not working. When i type http://www.site.com/index.php in the browser he redirects to http://site.com/index.php but this is not what i did. Any ideas why this is happens?

Is it possible to delete a 301 redirect if we make a mistake? and redirect it again?

    thank you

You can try rewriting your url to get the best of it.Use 301 redirects for your url and get only one url for all your seo work.

We do all of our sites in Wordpress on a Linux server. In Wordpress you can accomplish a 301 redirect by setting your desired URL in the Settings > General > WordPress address (URL) and Site address (URL) fields.

Another item to note is to create an account at Google Webmaster Tools and set your preference there also. When you do that Google gives you credit for all links instead of splitting them across 2 URL references. Always make sure to use a consistent URL to your pages. These links will split your SEO value across 2 different references:
    http://www.yoursite.com/index.php
    http://yoursite.com

Another powerful method is to do your 301 redirect in your .htaccess file.
